We've been offered a grant of £250 for an easel. I've looked at the CP ones, but they look a bit pricey! We need an easel that more than two children can use at a time, is foldable for storage (pack away) ideally with dry wipe/magnetic/chalkboard type options for surfaces. We'd like wood, in preference, but it's not the be all and end all! What's everyone got?

My sister's youngest (and last) leaves her pre-school at the end of next week. Between her and her brother that's 8 years of being there and my sister thinks they're great! She's asked me for any ideas of leaving presents she could give. My mind is drawing a blank! Have any of you got any ideas?

I had my first inspection yesterday and feel totally deflated today! Not that it didn't go well and the inspector was lovely but it is just so intense, I can only liken it to sitting an exam but having a 2 year old and 5 year old sat with you for the entire time. Don't get me wrong - I realise an important part of the inspection is observing my practice and I would be more than happy for an inspector to visit me every day and observe me with the children its just all the extra in depth questioning and providing proof whilst you are caring for children that have expectations based on their normal days with you. Having worked in various nurseries over the y…

Some while ago, I was diagnosed with, then successfully treated for breast cancer. I made a promise to ask you all ( men too!) to 'check your bits' on the 23rd ofSeptember. But, it occurs to me that some of you will check things at particular times of the month, rather than a day that suits me So, please, mark a day on your calendar, whichever one suits you.................... and check those boobs.............men too ( yes, men CAN get breast cancer).................and men, please check those dangly bits/testicles.......whatever you choose to call them........ I am 8 years beyond diagnosis and currently well. Please do the check, if not fr you, then for those you …

I was watching a programme on my local news (south today) last night and they were asking for volunteers to bake cakes for children. They went on to describe how people make cakes - birthdays etc -for children whose parents are unable to provide these through hardship etc., I thought "What a fantastic idea." I went on the site "FREE CAKES FOR KIDS" but there are no local groups to me - the nearest being Salisbury which is a great distance away - which is a shame. The site does say how to set up a group but I just can't commit to what that entails. I wondered if anyone belongs to this group / cooks cakes for this group? Also maybe it might be something that someone o…

Hi everyone, We are a packaway preschool and have manage to rasie £300 for some new outside equipment. What would you buy? We already have climbing frame/slide, bikes/sit an rides, trampolines, tyres/wooden balance beam. We have thought about one of those plastic play houses? Also I would like to paint the tyres we have and have seen some pictures on Pintrest, but they don't say what type of paint they used? Would it have to be lead free etc does anyone know? Any ideas much appreciated.

To help alleviate the stress of those not in the Olympic mood, I am looking forward to taking on 5 ex commercial hens at the weekend and would like help with naming them. In the past I have gone with flowers names, herbs, curries, 'night garden' and random names, so I'm running out of ideas. There are 5 so any ideas on a theme?

I have about 50 to 60 textbooks I no longer need as I am changing careers. Anyone have any ideas to the best way of getting rid of them? Most of them are around 4 to 11 years old. I need to make room ready for any new ones and my masters pre registration nursing degree folders/paperwork. I know there's only 21 weeks until it starts, passed the APL document. So it's a waiting game for the health questionnaire. I'm getting the study organised ready to start with a clean slate. Thanks in advance.
