Hi all I wonder how many of you have spotted the new tree icons that have been popping up all over the forum. These trees represent how long you have been growing in the fertile soil of the Foundation Stage Forum 🌳 You will see from my icon I am a very mature tree, I have been basking in the forum sunlight for a very long time 🤣 Here is the list with the time breaks and I look forward to seeing a forest full of mature trees over the coming years. So..................here's one for you. Two boys, playing with Mobilo in the book corner. One quite clearly calls the other a F**k butt...........I kid you not. I, with my best Joyce Grenfell voice and face, ask the child 'what was the word you just used?'...............and he comes over to me and very clearly, repeats it. I, again a la Ms Grenfell suggest that it's not a word we want to hear again at our setting, is it?? Child smiles sweetly and says no, it's not ( here i should add that the face of an angel is smiling up at me and it takes all I have not to offer him some brasso and a duster to polish his halo). https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/live/bbcone starts at about 8.30 am. As usual the discussion goes on! One owner/manager says she has decided not to pay herself anymore rather than lose staff or not pay them full wages rather than increasing fees. (Sounds very much like my last year!)

Hello all, I hope that those of you having a half term break are enjoying it and that no one gets blown away in the anticipated storms! I’m sat at the end of what feels like a long day looking for some new strategies for managing my to do list - it’s epic! I tend to feel like I can (just) about keep on top of the ‘normal’ teaching stuff but I never get a proper chance to get some of those jobs done which need a bit more thinking and because they’re not as time urgent as planning for next week they never get done! How do the rest of you manage to make yourself do stuff?! I admit that I am a procrastinator and that during the holidays I also feel a bit resentful …
