What a nightmare of a day! We had the most almighty storm here yesterday evening and I got to work today to find the place flooded!! Six of us have spent the morning baling out, mopping and drying. Fortunately we haven't lost any equipment-goodness knows how as the place was awash! I just hope it doesn't rain again tonight. Keep everything crossed for me!! Linda

It's my 50th on Monday and I had a FANTASTIC party last night. Hubby called us all into the car park for group photo's, then suddenly I saw a number plate PEGGY 50, then my hubby in the driving seat (I thought, he looks cool) Then.....I saw the car.....and then I asked Dave, Have you rented it for the weekend? No he said IT'S YOURS.  and the added bonus it's a 2 seater so NO KIDS (hahaha) Peggy p.s. Get a load of the bell bottoms eh!, plus the Farah Fawsett hair style

I made an executive decision today to give Peggy her own birthday thread because it is, afterall, a 'BIG ONE'. Many happy returns on your 50th Peggy. Enjoy your special day and I hope your new car takes you to a special celebration tonight!!!!!

So campbells and I joked about setting up a new political party - the "Pay Childcare Workers What They're Worth" party. Our rosettes would be made from crepe paper and assorted glitter, pom poms and bits of shiny cardboard cut out with patterned scissors, and fastened through button holes with pipe cleaners... With all this talk of a destabilised Government and a possible early General Election I have been thinking about the implications of a change in Government for us in the work we do, but also in the wider agenda for children and families. So, without this turning into a political rant against one party or another I was wondering if you all have any ideas a…

Bill Bailey Fans

On Tuesday night me and my husband Joe went to watch Bill Bailey at the Lowry in Salford. Well we were about 3 rows from the front and on the end of the row. He asked for a volunteer at one point so I stuck my hand up thinking that there would be loads of people wanting to take part. Nope! Just me! Anyway, next thing I know I'm standing on stage with Bill Bailey! I had a go on the Tenorian (sp), musical instrument thingy that looks like a load of lights and then he used what I did to make it into a tune! Joe took a sneaky no flash photo on his phone while I was up there but it wasn't great as there were so many lights on the stage and he didn't want to get thrown out! …
