I'm Leaving
by Guest- 20 replies

Well after 11 years in childcare - I have made the decision to leave. Basically I am fed up of all the paperwork, and the EYFS has finally finished me off. We do all this hard work on observations, learning journeys etc etc etc etc and no one seems to appreciate how much time and effort is put into it. Don't get me wrong, I think that change is a good thing and I have seen a lot over the last 11 years, but the EYFS has finally done it for me. I think that if I worked out the actual 'real' hours that I work I would also be under the minimum wage As a partner I also do all of the admin, filling places, funding forms etc etc etc. It's not a decision I have …

In another post it started to move off topic when this came up, so thought it may be an interesting exercise to try. I do get a listing with a contact number but it is for the setting I left 6 months ago.. seems there are many school listings out there which may include details.. Otherwise I am listed in white pages in America.. but it is not me And also on a site I use to record family tree evergenes, but the content of that is blocked from public for 50 years! how about you? Inge oh and facebook of course.. but not my real name on that , and the name I use there only comes up with others of same name in Germany

Chairs - Plastic Or Wooden
by Guest- 11 replies

As part of our refurbishment, I'm having new furniture in my classroom. I've decided on plastic Galt chairs for the messy/craft area, but would really like wooded chairs for the area which I am calling (at the moment) 'the quiet area.' I've chosen wooden tables with a coloured trim around the edge, and I'm thinking of matching wooden chairs. What would you recommend wooden or plastic? Many thanks, jackie.

Have just registered MrsWeasley, campbells and myself for the show in Manchester. Is anyone else going? Not sure whether we'll drive up in the morning or on Friday and stay overnight somewhere... Would be good to add to the list of EYFS forum-ers I've met this year... Maz PS the other thing I need to know is whether I'm being dense but if Special Needs North is on at the same time and the same place do I need to register for both? Or am I having a little trouble understanding letters and dates today?

Well ........ A 'friend' started a nursery in a nearby town last September - I gave her lots of moral support and encouragement and have continued to do so............. I am so disappointed to now find that she has tried to poach my staff - I really, really can't believe that she would stoop so low. But how lucky am I - the staff member that she approached told her "no I'm absolutely not interested, I am very happy with my lot"! I feel very sad and let down by my so called 'friend' - she's definitely been demoted to an 'aquaintance'. Sunnyday
