Had a sneaky little visit to Ikea yesterday..................came away only £110 lighter But I discovered some lovely little wooden crates, Knagglig (70292359)......small ones for£5 each and big ones for £9. Bloomin' great............going to use them in our shop, so we can set up a farm shop and will use some of the big ones for other resources, such as a phonics box ............really pleased with them

Nursery World article..is it time to have a professional body to try to have a holistic approach to early childhood issues . Other professions have them, nurses and doctors come immediately to mind. http://www.nurseryworld.co.uk/nursery-world/opinion/1157092/the-time-is-right-for-a-royal-college-for-early-childhood

Hi well-informed people, My husband has sent me the link to some Early Years Ofsted inspector's jobs. I seem to have the requirements to apply so I've been plodding away at an application, but other's I respect aren't jumping at the opportunity. Might it be that terrible? Application due in before midnight. Any thoughts appreciated. Honey.

I couldn't see if anyone else has posted this so sorry if they have and I just didn't see it. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/education-36114767 What are your opinions? Quite frankly it makes my blood boil, how is the ability to do algebra, Pythagoras and other rather pointless maths procedures make one more worthy to do their job and be part of a ratio?

So, our Romanian child...............you might recall all the problems I had getting info about FE for the family..............well, I had a message from the manager of another setting on Friday, telling me the family had visited and want their child to go to her setting, BUT could I please tell them ifI managed to get any funding for her and where from, as'she is beyond statutory school age' Now, I must admit, I was very disappointed to hear this, as we have bent over backwards, forwards and back again to help the family in various ways. Mum had expressed concerns ( as best she could with the language barrier) about her child being made 'school ready'...............…

I hope this is ok with admin.................. I have 20 Morleys beechwood school chairs for sale, in 'as new' condition......they currently cost £38 each. I would like £15 each, a total for all 20 of £300, which represents a huge saving. I am based near Bath, so an easy trip along the M4. I can deliver fairly locally, or further afield for petrol costs......or you can arrange a courier at your own expense. As they are quite heavy, we would need to split them into stacks of five chairs, this would mean they were easier to package etc. Please pm me if you're interested. I also have them advertised on ebay, in two lots of 15. And no, I'm not closing down .......…

we have a couple of children who have eypp which we need to use. these children love to use the outdoor area and look at bugs etc - however we do not have any resources to support this learning such as microscopes etc., which we thought might encourage them to talk about the things they see as they all need to support with talking etc., we do have magnifying glasses but feel that something like a microscope would make it easier - not sure this makes sense but hope you get the gist!!!!!!! anyway what i would like is anyones ideas on a microscope that is sturdy and robust and will last with the children using it? or any other ideas that will support childrens learning i…
