End Of Half Term
by Guest- 26 replies

Hi, Well I've got to my 100th post and been thinking about what to write so wondered after posts earlier in the week how half term turned out and what things are you looking forward to or not looking forward to next week. After a challenging start to the week with my 8 yr old daughter being sick and then admitted to hospital for 28hours (virus but initially thought it was her appendix so relief it was only a virus) all our plans for the week changed. Instead of spending a few days with my husband whilst the girls were away at their Gran's, I stayed at home with sick child and husband and daughter went away. She had great fun staying with her Gran and husband got to…

Round about October/November time there was a thread to do with 'Enabling environments'. It wasn't entitled that but I think it was a 2 or 3 word title. The gist of it was about ways of making the nursery look interesting and inviting. Within the thread was a book that was recommended and that's what I am trying to find. I seem to think it was about £24 when I looked it up. I am not sure whether it was the same thread that Marion posted some pictures of Wyngate Nursery. If anyone can point me in the right direction I would be very grateful. Many thanks Anne

I've been thinking and thinking about how to use my 4,000th post to best effect, and JacquieL suggested I start a new thread to which everyone (or at least lots of us) can contribute to. So here goes. As some of you will know, my dear daughter (in both the monetary and emotional sense ) will be 18 next week. Its a time for taking stock and thinking about one's life: both when you're about to be 18 but even more so when your first born is about to get the key of the door. I've been thinking back to when I was 18, and comparing my life with MrsWeasley's. So here's my question: what is the best/funniest/worst/most useless piece of advice you have been given at…

It's been a lovely day here in Brighton ... sunny and quite warm (in the sunshine). We had a really good day ... at home ... I cleared out the garage, my husband built a raised bed for our vegetables, 10 yr old rode his bike up and down the street, 3 yr old watered everything in sight and washed all his garden toys (and the garden path, and the garden table, and the water butt, and his wellies etc etc). Just wanted to let everyone know! Seems to have been too many days stuck indoors at the weekend recently. Really feel worn out now! Just enough strength to lift wine glass. Husband now cooking my dinner while I watch TV. Ahh Happy days! Anyone else had a nice day…

Uniform Or Own Clothes? 1 2

Hi Everyone I just thought I would ask for your opinions on whether you think it is better to wear a uniform or own clothes in a playgroup setting. At the moment we all wear a uniform but we are considering ditching them and letting staff wear their own clothes.

One Of "those" Days
by Guest- 14 replies

so, I'm working on a new project and time no longer has any meaning or end as I slog through the days trying to get things sorted. And this morning, after a week of 5-9 (yup! that way round) I'm well and truly shattered! Yesterday I'd had a long day in meetings, conferences and enough motivational inspirational clap trap to ensure I was completely demotivated followed by a very long and quite entertaining evening do; so to say when I arrived at my desk at 7 this morning all I could think was..."I'm going to shut that door and woe betide anyone who comes in and says something like... well, anything really is a bit of an understatement. There I am with my head in my hand…
