Well, since I posted in another thread about Monday, I thought I had better tell you all. This monday coming I am finally having an operation to fix the perforated eardrum. Well the operation sounds like one fun yet strange tasks, sound horrid so wont mention it. I am expected to stay in overnight after my operation. With a lovely banaged right ear for 3 weeks. I wil require a week off work (if there is no complications) and then back to work with one bandaged ear. The best bit that is in 3 weeks time (if the operation works) I will be getting upgraded hearing aids! Yippeeee Work have ended up sending me to see Occupation Health, after having 3 weeks off sick …

Please take a moment to think of Ayeeshia Smith, aged just 2 years old. Killed by her parents and let down by society, doctors and social services. I promise to do my best to be alert to warning signs and to be brave enough to stand beside all children and to speak up if and when I have concerns. And not to take 'no concerns'for an answer if i report those concerns. RIP little one x

my neighbours grand son attends a private nursery - he is almost 2 - we were discussing how he is getting on there etc., - however, i was totally gobsmacked when she told me that at this nursery the parents had been told that he should not be potty trained until he is 2 years and 11 months! has anyone else heard this -do this? surely potty training is individual to each child and when they are ready? it also makes me wonder whether as each child turns 2/11 they are automatically potty trained whether ready or not (before or after this age)?

Hi Just wondered whether anyone has celebrated this Thai New Year Festival. It starts round about 13th April this year. We have a boy whose mum is Thai and I would really like to celebrate this festival with him - it appears on line to be all about spraying each other with water and wishing each other a year of blessings, so I am planning lots of water activities that week - but if anyone knows anything else I could offer I would be much obliged. HIs mum just says, its lots of fun and obviously very hot in Thailand at this time of year and lots of water involved!

What am I doing wrong? Most times these days the 'like' button gives me a message like, 'your reputation something could not be stored at this time'. But sometimes it works. I've logged out and back in again, make sure I don't scroll up too quickly, and hold my mouth all sorts of different ways. Any answers anyone? Honey

Using my kitchenAid today to make a pizza dough, turned it up to mix on high for a minute, turned my back for a second to wash a dish...enormous crash, turn around to find it had jumped its way of the counter, pulling the plug out of the socket. Unfortunately the mixer has a massive China bowl. But not only was this smashed to pieces it had also swiped my cake stand and egg storage rack ( including 10 eggs) onto my tiled kitchen floor!!! I just did not know where to start cleaning up first!! Amazingly the machine itself is still working! Needless to say have started on the cider already!!

Hello, I have been a governor for about 4 years - as a teacher governor and then co-opted. We heard this week that our chair of governors is resigning from the role as she is moving a long way away! I am contemplating putting my name forward for the role but am wary of whether I could manage the time commitment or whether it would work for me to be chair of governors given that I'm a teacher (I work full time). Our existing chair was in school a lot - but she worked part-time from home - and seemed to do a huge amount of research etc. Do any of you have a role as chair of governors/know someone who does it and could give me an honest opinion of the role/resp…
