Teetotal Wine Buff 1 2

So, due to my acute pancreatitis attack, now on the mend, I am as of 28th December totally teetotal. When the doctors advised never to let alcohol pass my lips again, whilst I was in pain, I assured them 150% that I will follow their advice, never wanting to go through the health experience again. So 3 weeks later, watching hubby enjoy a glass of vino with the evening meal, my abstinence is somewhat difficult. Hubby bought me a bottle of "WHITE", Alcohol free aromatised Wine, produced in Germany (from Sainsbury's). Well it's ok if you like something that resembles Alka Selza with a tinge of Apple essence, ( and yes it smells like that too) a little fizz with…

I am hoping someone will be able to help me!! My daughter got a lovely shiny new laptop for Christmas, it has VISTA. She has finished her history mini project, saved it and saved it to her school file but it won't recognise word 2007 only the older version. Some very clever person saved a new version document into an old format for me on a link the other day. I was wondering if one of you clever people could either talk me through it or help in any way. It needs to be in on Friday and I don't want her to have to re-type it all onto my computer. Any help greatly received!!

Thought I'd share this with you One day a teacher asked the children to list the names of the other children in the room on two sheets of paper, leaving a space between each name. Then she told them to think of the nicest thing they could say about each of their classmates and write it down. It took the remainder of the lesson to finish and as the children left the room, each one handed in the papers. That Saturday, the teacher wrote down the name of each child on a separate sheet of paper, and listed what everyone else had said about that individual. On Monday she gave each child his or her list. Before long, the entire class was smiling. 'Really?' she heard w…

Happy New Year to you all! I hope that you are all feeling rested and ready for the year ahead. If you are looking for a distraction or a bit of light relief then this might be the competition for you. Back at the beginning of December Cait started a thread about funny abbreviations and JacquieL thought it would make a good competition topic. So this months competition is very simple. Who can come up with the most apt or funniest abbreviations for the following? 1. CWDC 2. DCSF 3. OFSTED 4. SALT 5. SENCO 6. EYPS 7. EYFS 8. IEP 9. EAL 10. SEAD The rules are quite simple and much the same as before. Rules: 1. Only one entry per abbreviation per mem…

GOODEVENING -today my 6 year old daughter has brought a letter home from school asking them to dress up for book character day as characters in the themes 'Heros and Villans ' or 'Goodies and Baddies' .I feel slightly miffed as I had had a marvellous ( rare!) brainwave of sending her as Cat in the HAt this year- now my plan has fallen flat as they have specified a theme . The long and short of it is my mind is blank - its got to be attractive to a 6 year old girly girl but I really want to avoid just sending her in her Disney dressing up gear (again) - do any of you marvellously creartive people have any bright ideas ? Thanks in advance Lizzy

Hi just thought id share Tyrell's first experience with a treasure basket. Samantha sits and plays with him its great to watch them together. Tyrell rummages through it and everything goes in his mouth while Samantha uses the objects in context such as trying to lock the door with the keys and painting the wall with the brush. They both love the treasure basket. jojom x
