Christmas Fair

Hi, Just wondered what other people are doing about cake making and Christmas fairs. I am the food co-ordinator at my school as part of our Healthy School Curriculum team. This year our headteacher has said (in light of new food regulations) that parents cannot make cakes at home for the Christmas fair but instead can make them in school in our food tech room. However she is also saying that parents cannot bring in their own ingredients to cook as we don't know where they have been!!!! I am happy to organise a rota of parents who have offered to cook but it seems barmy to me that the PTA are now buying ingredients to make cakes to sell at the fair to raise money for the…

Hi Hoping one of you clever people can help. We have a new head and I'm being asked to produce a whole pile of evidence and policies by the end of next week. Quite frankly I feel like I'm drowning! Anyway rant over, does anyone have a sample policy or any poniters for writing a policy on transition from pre-schools to reception from a reception teacher's point of view. I've had a good search around the forum posts but have only found examples of transition policies from reception to Year 1. Does this mean it isn't a normal policy to have? Hope you can help Fluffychuffnuts

Just wanted to let you guys know that tomorrow morning I'm going into hospital for my ankle surgery. I have to be there at 7am so I'm hoping that I'm in the morning surgery and I'll be home by the evening. I'm nervous as hell and feel sick about it but I know it's for the best and that I'l be ok. I was really quite emotional saying bye to the kids today, especially as most of them wont have a clue why I'm not there and some wont even know who I am when I go back or realise that I'm not there. I think the internet will be my lifesaver for the first few weeks when I can't get out and about. Edit: o0o0 this is post 888! I'm sure I'll reach 1000 before I go back to work…

My dear, lovely friends...................today, my world has been turned on its head.I have been to the hospital, where they inform me they are 99.99% certain I have breast cancer and will need a mastectomy. The good news is that as I went quite quickly, it has been caught early and they are hopeful of a full recovery. I will probably need chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy, so the lovely long hair will be gone, which I am sad about, but i guess it will grow back again? so, my lovelies, will you all do me a favour.................and yes, that includes the guys among us..........PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE check your boobs, for lumps, bumps or puckering, and if you find anything…
