Not been able to find the time lately to catch up with the forum, today I have been reading missed posts & I am noticing that many of us are so hectic with Christmas fast coming which means plays, party's, meetings, alongside the running & sorting out of the every day playgroup issues on top of our own family, home, and general life! Lets start a post for de-stressing strategies for our selves! I've tried turning off the work phone to find some one will then call on the home phone! Having a long hot bath & just getting my backside in & some one is at the front door! So it's my morning off & after house work I'm going to buy a funky pair of wellies…

Yesterday two staff members & four children went out to post a letter. The children wear hi-viz vests with our name on the back "U.R.C. Playgroup" This stands for United Reformed Church, the playgroup was started by the church & now is independent and hires the hall. Staff where approached by two mothers who said that they where going to send their child to our setting but now that they have seen the hi-viz jackets & the U.R.C. on the back that they had changed their mind as they couldn't be seen promoting a religion. Staff replied that we hire the hall & encourage learning of all faiths. Later on I spoke to my mother who was quite chuffed with her self …

I don't know about you but its the time of year when my inbox gets inundated with offers I can't refuse to buy presents for people I don't like which they'll never use. So I thought I would share this gem from play.com. Mr Maz and I are fairly compatible in the car but if your journeys often end in you not speaking to your other half (or the other way round), how about this for his/her stocking:- Sat Nag Every car should have one! I have a job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maternaty leave contract and its working with the 2-4 years age group in a playgroup. Starts Monday at the place I mentioned in my previous post (see inteview). Although its is subject to usuall trials and references. Now I need to sort out working tax credits again. Oh I can still do my voluntary work with brownies! Beth

Sorry but I just need to have a bit of a rant!! I have so far had 2 interviews with the NHS (but in different parts of the county) both for a community Nursery Nurse position. The feedback from the first one was that I interviewed really well and they would like to offer me a maternity cover position but that I lost out by 1 point to an internal candidate. (they never got back to me about that maternity position either!!) I had an interview yesterday and have just got the feedback - again the position went to an internal candidate! Again they said I interviewed really well and that they would be happy to invest in my training (ie pay for it) but offered me a 'ban…
