Hi all Yesterday I went to Chesterfield for a Forest schools taster day run by archimedes. It was incredible, I felt so passionate about it that I cried. So i go back to school today all fired up and wanting to make big changes but my head doesn't seem very interested and doesn't really understand the ethos and importance of forest school. Archimedes were so brilliant and they really emphasised the fact that Forest school is not simply taking children outside to do activities, but an ethos, a way of thinking and something that needs a lot of training and imput for it to be dleivered properly. So I go back to work this morning after the half term break, and so there's a fair bit of post which someone has helpfully piled up for me. Usual sort of stuff: people wanting me to buy lovely shade sails or fantastic landscape features which I can't because the Parish wouldn't allow it... Imagine my surprise when I open a pack of flyers from one of our local Day Nurseries (small chain of five in our part of the world) with a compliment slip saying "please hand these out to all your parents". So I'm thinking of ringing them to see if they'll give out some of mine in return! Anyone else had any offers they found easy to refuse today? Maz

Is it just me, or does anyone else out there find themselves awake at stupid hours for a little while after the clocks have changed? Every year is the same, and this year turns out to be no different!! On a usual Monday my alarm would go off at 6.30am. Usually but not always I wake a little before this. Today, body wide awake at 4.57. Finally at 5.26 I get up and head to this machine........... My 3 girls (furry ones: cats!) wait patiently on the modem, under my chair and next to the huge pile of books on the floor because they want to be fed. I can't do that now as husband and son are still snoozing and starting to feed cats will lead to having to…

It featured the High School where our kids go when they leave us! Most of it was totally impractical and apparently a lot of it has had to be changed but it was interesting. Just a shame the kids they brought in didn't really represent the school. All the really able kids!
