Those of you who have been members for some time may have noticed that Mundia has not been around lately. I have been authorised by her family to inform you that she is, unfortunately, very seriously ill at the moment. Mundia believes greatly in the power of thought and her family feel that a few messages of support could help her greatly at this time. Please either respond to this thread so that I can copy and send them on to her family, who will not be accessing FSF or email or PM me so that I can forward them directly. Thank you.

Having asked my best friend who lives in belgium what she wants for her birthday she asked for a good book to read!! I wondered if anybody had one to recommend please? shes not into books like Davinci code for instance but does like a good story sort of romance/family life. she loves Mr Darcy in Pride and prejudice but isnt particulary into historical romances otherwise. so anybody read a good book over the holidays that might fit the bill? I can't ever remember feeling so despondent about working in early years and am finding it really hard to motivate myself and begin to overcome the challenges my group faces this year. So today I was surprised to receive an invitation to a "Continual Professional Development Celebration Event" today. Apparently at this event I will be "congratulated and presented with a certificate" and then be able to partake of a light buffet. It should be an interesting evening - early years and childcare practitioners rubbing shoulders with social care practitioners and generally being feted by all - I can't wait to see who is there and who will be making the presentations! …

i have spent a very confusing day today , and think perhaps I am having mote than one senior moment.. we had 8 children and 3 staff.. lovely .. not usual ratios but an accident.. don't ask! By the time half an hour had passed I was so confused.. we had a Brett, Bradley, Brandon, Brendan and Bryn Oh and yes Bartosz.. all new children.. and all looking so similar I hadn't a hope.. I am a fairly easy going type of person.......... (Most of the time!!!) But I have totally had enough of the rain......... I usually don't let the weather get me down but if you look at it alongside the fact that where I live the council appear to have gone MENTAL in a big way it would get you down too!!!!!!!! You see not only do you have to worry about where might be flooded but you also have to worry about where the workmen are!!!!!! I think every route you try and take somewhere, has either been flooded or closed due to work. It can now mean what seems like a 10 mile trip to get the 2/3 miles you really wanted to go. Obviously no one can tur…

Community Nursery Nurse
by Guest- 7 replies

Hi all I have an interview tomorrow for a community nursery nurse, working with the health visitors. I have worked in a pre-school setting for 7 year (for the past 12 months as manager). So basically my skills lie in the 2 - 5 age group (I have no 'baby' experience, apart from having two of my own). Has anyone ever been for this type of job before? Any hints or tips would be appreciated. thank you jennix
