I have just been reading about a study into excercise and its effect on the body. It seems that the perceived level of excercise and health is what matters. The study was into cleaners who spent their days lifting, carrying, scrubbing etc. ( not unlike our work then) They found that when asked they said that they had no regular exercise and their weight and health reflected that. They were overweight etc. One group were then told that they actually excercised a lot and were very healthy. Without any further activities, other than their work, the weight dropped off these woman and their physical health imporved dramatically. So girls sit in your armchairs, sip the wine, m…

I would like to say a big thank you to all the Foundation Stage Forum members. This forum and it's members has helped me immensely over the last few months, whilst I've been preparing for the EYFS and I really don't think I could have done it without you all. I've read topic after topic on here and the experiences, knowledge and ideas that you all share have been invaluable. It's been a stressful few months, but I'm all set for September now. Hopefully I can play my part in this forum in the future and share some of my knowledge and ideas. However, I'm starting the foundation degree at the end of September, so I think I might well be back looking for advice from you …

My daughter is celebrating the results of her science gcse. She got A* in chemistry (she regards this as her weakest subject!!) A in biology and A in physics. We are so very proud of her. Apparently this is part 1 of the science gcse and will of course be sitting the 2nd part next year when she does her gcse's proper. I hope I do as well as her with this current FD assignment!!! In her typical non-committal teenage way she says, "Yeah I'm pleased, what's for dinner?"

Just wondering...has anyone gone to V at Weston Park this weekend...or anyone's offspring, come to that (showing my age here!)? I live about 3 miles down the road from there and as usual can hear everything as clear as a bell from my back garden...I think I'm going to sell my own tickets next year! If anyone HAS got friends/relatives there, it's absoultely chucking it down at the moment!
