Having waited in vain for hali to tell you all our good news, looks as if I'll have to blow my own trumpet for once in my life... We got our results yesterday, and we are now both proud owners of a BA (Hons) in Children's Learning and Development! Come on hali: tell them all how clever you are! Maz PS she hasn't slipped into another thread has she?

Read in the telegraph online "Toddlers who dislike spicy food 'racist'". We are encouraged to report any child who says "yuk" when offered unfamiliar foreign food. I'm all for challenging racist language and behaviour but this is really taking the michael!!! Sorry but I can't do the link - it's telegraph.co.uk

Ofsted came on friday and then again today to reinspect us. We were inspected back in November, our pre-school bit got good but day care got inadequate, so over all we got inadequate. I took over running the whole centre rather than just the pre-school bit on the 1st of May. The outcome today was........................ good!! I am surprised that we made such a leap. I couldnt have done it without the support of the director, admin and a few others, including all of you.

I had a job interview yesterday. Today I learnt I didnt get it because I was nervous. The only other candidate didnt get the job either for the same reason. The job was advertised through the agency I work with. I phoned them to ask if that really was the only reason and was told 'yes'. I was nervous, it was a job interview! Has anyone ever NOT offered or been offered a job on this basis. I find it hard to believe that was the reason. Luckily I only went for it because I'd done a days supply there in February and left feeling that I would love to be able to make changes there. Cant believe nerves could be a reason for unsuitability.

This link is to the Children and young people site. Here They are reporting that Wokingham in Surrey are consulting with parents, children and schools whether the age of school admissions should be higher or lower. Really hope they decide to raise the age. How awful for our children if the decision is to start school at 3 years old? I wish people would stop messing with our children.
