Can Anyone Help With Some Initials?

Not sure if this is in the right place but here goes. I've just had a phone call from the reception teacher at our feeder school. She had been to a training session/ meeting for Foundation stage moderators and it was mentioned that there was one un-named PVI child in my playgroup. She thought it was to do with the child going straight in to year 1 but would have to be moderated at the foundation stage. The only thing that I could think of was Private, Voluntary and Independent but that can't be it. Sooo do any of you lovely people know what this means? Thank you in advance, Mary

I recieved a postcard today from a former child (that reduced me to tears of pride) it said "I have just been to see Claude Monets garden and it is as magical as you said, thankyou because if it wasnt for you i would never have known about it or ever seen it" This child is now in year three at school and i remember him telling me that when he was a big boyhe would go to see Claude Monets garden. It is heartwarming to think he still remembers nursery and the knowledge we learnt and shared together. He tells me his next trip will be to see Edgar Degas "Marie the little dancer"!!!.

What A Great Forum This Is!

Hi I have recently joined a couple of other forums - one for gardening and another for cars (I know, a bit sad but still). Anyway, I posted asking for advice on each of them and after a week I've had a total of ZERO responses from either. From my experience on this forum, I've found lots of useful info, had plenty of people willing to share and listen to my whinges and offer support in darker moments. Just like to say a big THANK YOU to you all. After visiting other forums, I realise what a great bunch of people are on this one. Hope you all have a great weekend. Sally

Hi All Would like some advice please - a lady from our local community would like to volunteer to come in and help - she has no child care experience and is not enrolled on any relevant child qualification course - I do not want to deter her from coming into help, ie read stories etc, however, it does concern me as I feel I would have to monitor her with the children - I would obviously apply for a police check and gain references before she came into help. The reason I say this is we recently had a lady on a placement with us whilst studying for the Foundation Stage Degree, when a little boy wanted to put on a dress, she said "no" boys don't put on dresses" I obviou…
