Sorry To Say, It's Goodbye....

I haven't been a member of this forum for too long but in the time I have been I;ve found it a valuable source of information and reassurance! I'm sad to announce that not only will my subscription end tomorrow, but also my setting will close in July (after 25 years). It's been a hard slog for the last few years and we have been lucky to have the backing of a Trust who have been a lifeline in those years. Unfortunately too many factors have now led to the decision being made to close: finance, lack of property, recruitment difficulties ( lack of trained Steiner Waldorf teachers available).......... the list goes on. So, Thank you all for your kindness in welcomi…

Did anyone else listening to the radio yesterday hear about Essex Council who have banned bunting from fairs and celebrations? Also, someone referred to new advice to parents that all paddling pools in gardens should have a lifeguard...... What is the world coming to?

I am so excited. I have a new job as a nursery teacher in Sept. Many thanks for all members of the forum who were really kind and helpful when I was utterly stressed out and depressed a couple of months ago. A big thank you especially to Catma. I wanted to send a pm but have forgotten how to do it and can't seem to work it out. Hope you all have a great half term and don't spend the whole lot report writing which is what I feel I'm destined to do!! AOB

Hello all I've been part of this online community for so long that it is like a family! And just like families that stick together I am asking you for your support. On Wednesday 25th June I will be running my first Cancer Research 'Race for Life'. Now I am sure that many of you have friends or relatives that may be doing the same and I am sure that you may have already sponsored them- but if you haven't I am kindly asking if you wouldn't mind sponsoring me- just a pound will help. I am running the race as I lost my mum to cancer last year and anyone that has been affected by it will know how hard and how much the charity does in order to find cures for all types of…

hi everyone, yet again im on here as im doubting the decisions i mkae and wondered if u lovely people could reassure me or give constructuve critisim ive already asked what i should be doing in terms of reading as the setting was using oxford reading tree, and i decided i would like to operate a library for parents to tkae story books home to share with children. i approached this with my nn today as we are currently writing junes newsletter and thought would be good to start it at the beginning of month and inform parents this way. i have decided to put the emphasis on the parent if they want a book to share they can choose on (or the child can) they then jus…

Hi I need some advice I work in a small Pre School only 5 staff run by a committee I get on well with everyone except my manager who I feel belittles me at times and makes me feel as if I cannot do the job to her standards, she is a perfectionist and admits it. Anyway feeling a bit unhappy but to top it off the committee have made a boo boo with my wages and overpaid me by quite a large sum over a long period of time I now have to repay the money and take a drop in wages. Don't know what to do should I look for new job or stick it out I feel as if my confidence is ebbing away and I am edge all the time but love my job Thanks for caring
