Hi All Well sorry to come on here and rant but I have had such a day. can anyone please remind me why we work in childcare and what happened to the simple activity of playing with and interacting with the children. At the minute I feel like I am chasing myself in circles and still have people expecting a little more. Don't get me wrong my boss is brill it is the people who have no experience of childcare and do not realise the everyday mechanics of managing a setting!!! There now seems so much more paperwork and debt collection. Can anyone give me any suggestions on how to keep parents up to date with accounts!. feeling sorry for myself today got a bit of a chest infection but dragged myself to work for the early shift till someone could take over. very cold weather combined with the chest infection triggered a small asthma attack thankfully my OH was there as he is our domestic Goddess/God? i was a good girl and took my medication and went home to bed. What I want to ask is how other small groups ,we start at 7.30 with our before club manage cover? I have so far not been able to get much stand in and does the EYFS mean that stand ins will all have to be suitably qualified for the job role? Just to let you know that next Wed 5 Mar, 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm Whistleblower is going to be looking at how easy it is to get a job in childcare with any qualifications or experience putting the children's welfare at risk. With 3 cats, its inevitable there will be fleas but my youngest son is asthmatic and has exzema which has recently reacted badly to the carpet spray. Do any of you have any tried and tested remedies to get rid of the blighters? One has just landed on my newly glossed skirting board! Up until now he was ok with the stuff I used but I need other ideas now. I know his exzema might have different triggers to other peoples but any ideas on what to try will be welcome Thanks folks

Why???? Got to work on Friday morning to find 2 smashed windows...glass everywhere inside and outside. Thought we could get cleaned up in time to carry on as normal and not let whoever did this to get the better of me!!!!! Unfortunately the glass had got in every nook and cranny so made decision to cancel nursery for the day....Frantically rang round to parents who were just as shocked and angry as we were. Staff spent the whole day taking everything outside, cleaning, hoovering etc over and over again to make sure no area was untouched. Windows replaced later in the afternoon...went home about 4pm....couldn't settle really and was still in shock & angry. Woke…

I had to visit the job centre this morning. I woke up to dad saying it was snowing, it was forcasted last night on the bbc website. The road that would normally be gritted were not. So we have breakfast etc then make our way do to the shop, what an hairasing experience, cars sliding everywhere and buses going a different way around to the normal route. I managed to get on the bus phew i thought until we hit the main road, well what crazyness that was cars going soooo slowwww and backing up. We manged to make it onto the main road slowing moving and when we got to the hill we hit black ice and started sliding down the road nearly hitting the wall to our left…

I have seen a job been adversited for the last couple of months, Preschool Manage position. It as been adversited again today, the preschool is only open in the mornings and one day a week it will clash with my FDey course. Now I am wondering weither or not to apply, there is an appliciation form and job spec/person description on their own website which I would fill in. There is on closing date but I could fill it in very quickly in the next couple of days. Agghhhhh I hate having to apply for jobs and not get anywhere.
