Our nursery has been nominated as finalists in the Families First NI awards! We would all appreciate if you could take a few seconds of your time and vote for Minor Miracles!. Just go to the website below and click on Belfast nominees and follow the instructions until you find Carrickfergus section and vote for Minor Miracles https://familiesfirst.ie

NOt quite the right area to post this in but more of a conversation than anything else! What training would you like to see available and what sort of cost would you pay per delegate? Is there any area in particular that you feel is not covered at the moment (!)

So - my question is - do you have one? I am not 'eligible' for a freebie - so have in the past paid for one as I thought it was worth it as a precautionary measure - last year I just didn't get round to it - and luckily, I was fine :1b Really not sure whether or not to go for one this year......

Wow -it seems to have come round fast! :1b ........apologies to those not lucky enough to get a break.. Not planning to do too much pre-school work - apart from - drum roll needed here.........I have started to update my SEF :1b I changed section 1 yesterday and it wouldn't allow me to submit as I hadn't completed section 6  I overcame that by just typing 'to be completed' in section 6  I have written (some of) section 6 in draft form and will definitely, yes definitely finish that and add it online :1b Anyway whatever your plans I hope you all have a super break! :1b

It feels as if we have a million and one things that have changed and if I'm honest I am struggling to keep up, cope and understand it all and as the manager I'm expected to cascade, inform staff what to do, ensure we are implementing everything - but how can I when I 'don't get' half of it myself!! I have had a staff meeting today and found myself saying that they needed to be more pro-active looking at Safeguarding Sites finding out whats changed without me having to feedspoon everything - ensure that they read what I send eg Prevent Duty guidance, understand the importance of reading new inspection docs etc etc We have a 1 hour staff meeting every week, but that do…

Has anyone seen that video of the child care worker in USA ? It is beyond my understanding how anyone could do this to a child and also how her work colleague sat and let it happen. Thank goodness for CCTV !!! This is why we have safe guarding and whistle blowing policies !!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a bit random but where better to ask random questions than FSF?! I have been thinking of making some decorations for my house/door - mainly for autumn but also thinking ahead slightly to the season which can't be named yet (Ssssh don't tell Sunnyday! ). I have spent a happy half-hour avoiding doing my planning by looking on pinterest for ideas! However, most of them (the ones I really like) have bits of foliage or greenery in them. I live in the middle of a town with a tiny garden and while I might be able to pull a smidgin of ivy off the fence with next door. I'm wondering where else I might get bits and pieces. There are a couple of parks nearby wh…
