Job Sorted At Last!

I had a phone call yesterday from the preschool I have been working in as a volunteer. They have finally offered me the job which I was already doing until just before christmas. I'm so excited and I can't wait to get started. It has taken ages to sort out the niggles of the committee regarding hours and rates of pay but I am now officially employed as from next Monday. I have been like a yo-yo with this and at one point I was going to pack it all in but I worked hard to get my dpp and it seemed a waste. Hopefully you wont all have to listen to me moaning anymore, at least not for the first week! Sally

My daughter (13yrs) is booked (and paid for) to go skiing with the school in March and The German Trip in May. She had sorted out what (so called) friends she wanted to go with. Now they have all dumped her and agreed to go with others because they don't want to hurt the other girls feelings (what about my daughters!). She has come home from school today crying and saying its no point going on any of the trips. I have tried to reassure her that there will be someone to go with and that it will all change again in the next few months. It breaks my heart to think that she may be away from home with no one wanting to be with her. (she has been away on school t…

Fantastic Tv Programme On Channel 5

Wow, I have just sat down and watched 2 episodes of 'How to make your child brilliant' on Channel 5. Has anyone else seen them? I picked up a few really good tips along the way! It was a brilliant programme where an expert in education went into schools to find children (aged 8-11 years) who didn't seem to be excelling in the school 'mould' but who were demonstrating real gifts that she felt she could bring on with brain exercises. After a series of practical tests and exercises she finally chose which child to focus on and work with. In the first programme it was a boy who she felt was a real entrepreneur and she set him the challenge of designing, building and …

Hi, due to staff changes and more children coming it makes sense for me to go in a room on a regular basis, the room will be pre-school and i will go in every monday, i can't wait. Before becoming manager i worked fulltime in pre-school and totally miss it at present. so a large part of managment roles (i.e answering phones, show rounds etc...) will go to my deputy each monday which will be great for her professional development. ( i will be in building, but unavailable as manager unless its essential , i.e deputy can't deal with it!!) for my own sanity and sense of wellbeing i get to do what i do best, play and interact with the children and learn more about wh…

I saw this on another message board and I though you might like a laugh. Can you cry under water? How important does a person have to be before they are considered assassinated instead of just murdered? Why do you have to 'put your two cents in'.. but it's only a 'penny for your thoughts'? Where's that extra penny going to? Once you're in heaven, do you get stuck wearing the clothes you were buried in for eternity? Why does a round pizza come in a square box? What disease did cured ham actually have? How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage? Why is it that people say the…
