New Addition To The Family

Just like to introduce you to our puppy Benjie, a chocolate brown labrador. Hubby bought him about 3 weeks ago, as a surprise. His name is Benjie and he's 14 mths old. He is fantastic with the children ( tends to choose to be in a different room to them though, well 4 children can be noisy!!), his manner is soooo calm, lovable and already loyal. He's been into preschool with me a few times and all the children, even the hesitant ones have come to adore him, asking when he is coming in next. Last Sunday he became ill, shivering and hot, diarhria (spl) and wouldn't eat or drink. By the Monday he was worse and couldn't stand up, so we took him to the vet, he …

Looking For Numbers 4 And 9

Hi everyone this is my first post so be gentle with me! I’m looking for a font that uses a 4 the way we write them in school (ie not joining the vertical line all the way to the top of the numeral – so diagonal down to the left, horizontal across left to right and slash through the horizontal) The font also needs to have proper 9’s eg like a reversed capital P. Any ideas would be gratefully accepted as I want to upgrade our numberlines (and I am very left handed wonky writer!) Many thanks Boot

Halloween Party

Well we've been invited to a halloween party tomorrow night, children and adults. Hubby is soooooo reluctant to 'dress up' so any ideas for fab costumes, ( not commercially bought), little fuss with good effect please. I have face paints and nothing else. Ideas for me too, apparently witches are banned the host thinks this is too easy, non creative option for the ladies The children are easy, four horrors without a hint of make-up ( I jest ) It's just the adult costumes I can't think of. My 4yo dd's latest fave book at bedtime is Mummy Laid an Egg by Babette Cole a rather lovely version of the facts of life IMHO! Tonight after we read it she launched into a ramble about the olden days being a long time ago and modern times being now and as I was beginning to zone out (sounds mean but you know how it is after you've listened to children all day long!) she suddenly started on about mummies being born and finally we got to the crux of her ramble.... where did the first mummy come from? My daughter is due to start school in September and I am lucky to have two good primary schools to choose from - both very close to where I live (less than 5 mins walk away). They both have similar results but one is much smaller than the other... oh and I am the Reception teacher there! My dilemma is that before I got the job I would have chosen this school (for its small family feel) as the one to send my little girl to but now faced with being her first teacher I am having second thoughts.
