I went to the hosptial this afternoon for a 6 months check up on my ear (more commonly known as the bi-annual bore, because its boring!!!!). I got to the hosptial car park, when a little girl about 16 months old came out with her parents. The girl smilled and waved at me, then of course the parents looked a little confused. I think its a little strange to say what they did. Anyway I went in to the department, again more children smiling and waving. :wa…

HI we have now settled under the new ownership at nursery and things are going very well . We decided that it would make more sense to move the nursery rooms around because the rooms were underused due to numbers and space requirements for children in each room. we are a four room nursery and have moved three rooms around. The pre-school room is now lovely and big, set up in the format i like and i think will work well for our nursery. the toddler and tweenie rooms look equally nice..... but my god i did not realise how much was involved in moving rooms. It is not just furniture that needs moving but also children's files, toys, art work and the list goes on, as…

I joked on BrendaS' "dog sitting" thread about the possibility of the possibility of one of the elderly gerbils who we are looking after dying before his young (ten year old) owner comes back from holiday. Well we just found one of them has indeed died so now we have a dilemma. The family are back from their holiday on Saturday, and I wondered if there is any accepted etiquette about what to do when the pet you're looking after dies while the owner is on holiday. We don't have pets, but I guess if we did I would want the children to mark their deaths and have a proper 'funeral' to say goodbye. I have prepared a little box for the gerbil to go in (and we're negot…
