Barnardos Big Toddle

Just thought I would like to share with you the fact that the children in our pre-school helped to raise £690.00 for Barnardos. The 38 children went out in small groups of max 9 children over a one week period. They walked through the local park, stopped to play on the swings and then walked back to the setting and we managed to do it without getting wet!!!! They really enjoyed going out and wore our newly purchased hi-vis vests. As this is such a valuable cause we have decided again this year that we will NOT retain the 25% that we are allowed to keep for ourselves. If this money can help just a few children, then its got to be worth doing, hasn't it!

HI sorry this is going to be long and whining, but there is no one around to listen, so i thought i would come here well the sale of our nursery goes through tommorow and then i will officially no longer belong to the company that i am in but will be part of another. okay, fair enough, same staff, parents and children, same location and terms of conditions in contracts but new owners I think i can safely say that myself and one of the new owners completely and utterly clash, we are not destined to get on,and for want of a better word she is already 'doing my head in', and she hasn't completed the sale yet. Today she called in at 11:45 to apparently drop…

Baby Iris was born on 31st May at 8.05am. She was 9lb 4oz. I didn't get the home birth I'd hoped for as I got transferred in due to bleeding which turned out to be nothing . Crikey, pushing a baby out is flippin hard work isn't it?!!! I had a section with my first daughter - no one told me pushing hurt so much! Her shoulders got stuck at the end so we had a pretty scary half hour of pushing and pulling - she came out eventually though and three weeks later I'm more or less 'back to normal' if you know what I mean!!!!! Now the distant memory of sleepless nights is a reality again (I'm exhausted) and life with a 2 1/2 year old and a baby is interesting! G…

We are getting 2 kittens on Wed. It's Paul's birthday at the weekend and he has wanted a kitten for ages. I was going to get him one as a surprise, but thought it would either be a really good present, or a disaster. So I suggested it to him, and he liked the idea. We went to choose one the other day, but ended up with 2 - one black and one ginger. Paul has spent the weekend cleaning and tidying the house for them - it's like having a new baby arrive! Can't wait to get them - so in a way they are a present for me too - although I will remind Paul that they are HIS kittens, if there is any mess that needs clearing up!

Fantastic Book Sale

[ Am sure lots of you will know about the fantastic scholastic warehouse sales that take place each term but thought I would post in case there was anyone who doesn't. I went after school tonight and got £208 of books for £32! Loads of teacher resource books and millions of childrens' pic books and novels for older children. Well worth a visit if in your area - the lady didn't even add my totals up (would've been about £50 if she had), she just shoved them in a cardboard box and said £32! Here is the link to the site which says where the sales are: http://www.scholastic.co.uk/sale.htm/font]

Just wanted to share with my forum friends.....I started my new job today as preschool leader for a small local nursery....WOW you all know what it's like, new ways of doing things, ideas popping up every where you look, yet another format for planning!!!!!!!!! I can't stop thinking about it all...mind boggling! I need to just go with the flow for now as it is so near to the end of the school year, for the children's sake and the staff, so it's a matter of getting to know staff, routines and starting to think about implementing little bit's of me in September and new planning format's. On the whole a good first day, staff seem lovely and children are amazing wherever…
