Just wanted to tell you all about our fabulous celebration.I was lucky enough to be offered the post of Senior practitioner(job sharing with a good friend who I have the utmost respect for as a colleague) in a brand new Extended school. When we were appointed we were given an empty building and a budget!Now we have a wonderful team and all our services are thriving! We have been open a whole year and yesterday threw a wonderful party to celebrate our anniversary! We invited everyone connected with our service and were overwhelmed by the response. Hope someone can reassure me. I'm returning to work after a long illness on a phased return and the head said I had to carry on sending sick notes in during this time so that he will be paid for extra cover. However, personnel have told me that I have to be signed off to carry out my duties and he'll get paid for cover because I'm teaching staff . My doctor is willing to sign me off but how do I approach the head to tell him he's wrong?

I can't believe it's only Monday. I've had a terrible day with my class. Is there a new moon or full moon or something today? I only have 7 children in my class but they have all been on one today. 1 spent the entire day screaming and slapping staff and/or pulling down his pad and trousers. Another spent the day scratching staff and pupils, turning on the taps full blast even though they were fastened so tight that we were struggling to turn them on and also flinging his shoes across the classroom/playground. One refused to have her dinner, kicking and screaming on the floor (she goes on a supported visit every other Monday and thought today was one of those days ). O…

Nursery Been Sold, Im In Shock!

HI Today at the management meeting i found out that our nursery has been sold, there is four in the chain and my nursery is the only one they are selling, i am genuingly shocked and well, shocked!!!!! the people who have brought it are taking it over as a nursery so staff will all stay, so i know my job is secure, but still its change i don't want, boo who, i wanna cry!!!!! plus now my directors have little involvment, but the new directors, well one of them will actually work in the nursery, but i will still be Manager, she apparently will be deputy, although she has never worked in a nursery before!!!!..... hmmm, this could be fun.... anyway it all goes …

I have completed an application form for a job (closing date is Wednesday) and I am undecided on weither to post it or hand it in to the place Monday afternoon/evening. The post in my area is must be going crazy as I got a piece of post dated last monday with a first class stamp on it! Would you think I was mad if I turned up at the school say around 4 pm to hand in the application form? As some of you know I have had a couple of interviews in the last day or so. :rolleyes: Well I went to an interview today, the postion is a room leader for the over 2's room after the 12 weeks trial as per usual, so starting as a nursery nurse. :unsure: I feel I did really well overall with the questions with confidence.
