Just to make you all laugh on a Friday afternoon! My neice (5 yrs old) is talking to her mum as they come down the stairs. " Mummy my teacher told me that our brains are under our hair" " ok" replied my sister. " But daddy hasn't got any hair, so he hasn't got any brains has he?!!! " ( the dad shaves his head!!)

Hiya all Just wanted to say that after a long 4 1/2 years I passed my degree in early years management with a FIRST. As you can imagine I am so pleased and I want to thank everyone here for making my life easier with all your valuable information and helpful tables, advice that has made aspects of my job so much easier so that I could concentrate on doing my degree. Just got my gateway review tomorrow so hopefully I will be able to move on with my EYP. Nikki

Hi all, My work college is currently studing for her DPP. Last week she was sat at home on the computer working away hard, the home phone rang so she got up to answer the call then returned to the computer.... as she sat down on the computer chair, the chair collapsed.... ok so not very elegant but what the heck no one can see. The problem was that her A4 lever arch file was open on the floor beside her, now she had a major issue the ring binders metal prong had gone through her big toe . She was unable to move, the home phone was across the room, her husbands old mobile had no charge and hers was completey out of reach. She waited untill her son came in from school …

My 14 yr old has been asking to go to the dentist for ages, but I am so scared that I keep putting it off. And anyway I dont think we've got one anymore, so... I just looked online for dentists in my area who are taking on NHS patients. I looked at the one nearest me and read that they have an 'Anxiety management service'. The very words made me stomach flip and a feeling like pins and needles run up my whole body. I re-read it and got the same feeling. Now, I know I should be setting a good example but the very thought of the smell and sounds makes my blood run cold. I have been on my weekly trawl through the council jobs in the area where I live. Well in one area there are no less than 5 reception teacher's posts going plus 4 key stage 1 posts. Oh I wish I was a teacher trained in Foundation/Key Stage 1, theres more going than nursery nursing at the moment. :wacko: Plus that similar amount to this time last year!
