by Guest- 19 replies

I have to write a reference for a student who has now been in our setting for a year. She has applied for a job as a T.A at another school. The problem is we have not been impressed with her at all. She is regulary late, does not use her initiative, rarely follows instructions accurately and hasn't really built up a rapour with the children. Can anyone give me any advice on what on earth i am going to write in her reference?!?!

Don't post on here a great deal but thought I'd share my news! If all goes well I'm due next May. Didn't time that too well with the summer holidays and mat leave did I?! Still, I get 9 months statutory maternity pay instead of six. Gordon Brown did something good then! Fluff x

I went to visit a setting today (see my blog for further details) and they have asked me to come back for a formal interview. They said I would walk the interview(whatever comment that means). I have a good feeling they may be giving me a job there. It is a very large setting to the point in which I have been told that there are 3 officers in charge of different areas and an overall manger plus owners. There 2 baby rooms into different age groups, a 2-3room, a 3-5 room and an out of school club. Now I haven't worked in the Foundation Stage as a regular member of staff for a long time. Eekkkk What do I need to remeber, I know this is a part time p…

Just wanted some sympathy - am off work having got flu and managed to faint in queue in post office on Tuesday smashing my face up - cutting my lip to shreds, ripped skin on face and pushed teeth into my mouth. Was taken to A&E by ambulance and stitched up then another A&E and teeth splinted. Very swollen - can only drink through straw and eat tiny pieces of food by posting them into my mouth. Can't believe I've done it : ( Getting married in 2 months and hope it's going to heal cos at the moment I look hideous

Have you ever had a day where you just feel completely lost? Ive got so many little projects on the go, and i dont know where to begin, and cant find the energy or the motivation to get on with them. This weekend ive just felt like catching up on favourite tv progs and films and chilling out, and i figured that i deserve the break, but i keep getting this little lost feeling inside. I dont feel particularly down, and when i look at few posts on here, i actually feel quite lucky, maybe a little overwhelmed.

I wasn't sure where to post this. I am sure you have being following this case and have felt as helpless as me. As Educators of children the same age as Madeleine and for some of you like me mother's of children the same age you would like to help. I have downloaded the email poster and sent it to my entire address book, i work for a large organisation of preschools in Hong Kong and am hoping they will agree to printing the poster to be sent to parents and email the poster to them. There is no following of this case here and although its unlikely she is in this part of the world, no one knows for sure where she is and our parents travel alot. Could we displa…

Although we are getting married in August, we can't afford to go on our honeymoon straight away, so are going to go away for 3 days after our wedding, and then have our proper honeymoon a bit later. I am looking for ideas on a location to go to for the 3 days. I am open to all suggestions, and look forward to hearing about lovely places that I may not have considered. Thanks loads.
