Anyway, also made time to spend with the children, and even tho I was meant to leave at 4pm, I waited until every single child had left, and even stayed behind to help the staff clean for 1 more time! I got lots of lovely cards, etc, and the nursery team bought me some pictures for my lounge, and some jewellery. But best of all they made me up a photo album of all the children, and gave me a ha…

HI The other day i was working in the pre-school room, and a little boy (he is nearly four) said to JO (member of staff) ' Jo, you are like a Giraffe', because you are tall and thin and you have a long neck'. so seeing the opportunity there i said ' so what animal is Dawn', one child shouted 'your a grumpy lion' LOL (guess i'd been grumpy that day at least in his eyes anyway) , the other child said 'well, your like a camel'. I asked him why and he said 'because your all lumpy'..... well i swear i creased up laughing as did the other two staff in the room.... the children looked bewildered at what we found so funny... Just wanted to share with you the lovely banner that I was given when I left my preschool at the end of term. I hope my attachment of the photo works.... One of the mums made it by drawing round all the children's hands (64 all together including some who left 4 or 5 years ago that she tracked down) cutting them out of fabric, embroidering their names on and making this banner to say "Thank you Carolyn". I start my new job (Portage home visitor - see my previous post) on Monday. I am looking forward to it but it was sad to say goodbye to all the children, parents and staff at the preschool. Carolyn
