Lovely, FREE publication from Community Playthings available now : 'Woodwork in the Early Years'.......I'd highly recommend it. And, if you're interested, there is currently a very sturdy CP woodwork bench for sale on ebay......... What i love about this new publication is that it is full of inspirational ideas, advice about H/S, ratios etc...........common sense stuff. It also gives a list of suggested suppliers to buy equipment from.

...for me! I love reading - it's my escape from the world! I have loads of books but don't feel like reading any of them at the moment! I've got numerous unread books - in fact I have decided (again! ) that 2015 will be the year I clear the unread books - there were 35 last time I counted. I have the book for my book group which I have only just started - meeting is next Wednesday although I'm not inspired yet! So, there's not exactly a shortage of books in my house but I'd love to hear what other people are reading at the moment. A list of things to go and read might be a motivator to finish the ones I already have!

Anyone interested? I'm going to go and dust and loiter and I have half a tin of chocolate orange brownies if anyone's interested. I could do with some company tonight and everyone (and I mean everyone) I know is either out or not answering their phone to me!

I've done it! I've sent in my application for the EYTS course. What have I done?! I really didn't know which route to go down EYTS or MA, but as I'm back on the 'shop floor' so to speak, I thought that the former would be a more useful option. So, there are only 10 places available on the Employment based route at my local Uni - can everyone cross their fingers for me please! Anyone who has already completed it or on it this year - is there anything I need to know, what should I expect the workload to be like? Thanks x

Apologies this has nothing to do with EY......... I hate to ask but if you would consider signing this petition that would be great Much as I whinge about Operation Stack it is just a mild irritant to me -at the moment - that will change if I need to get to hospital anytime soon - but for many people in my area of Kent this is an absolutely terrible situation....... Mr Cameron's response has, in my humble, been woefully inadequate - I especially liked his "people must prepare for this to carry on throughout the whole summer" - or something like that Blow the link didn't work - I will be back - possibly/maybe!!! Soooo - I'm horribly embarrassed now :w…

Hello All It's been a while and a bit of a mad year for me. At last a new job starting in September, nearer home, but illness since September. As yet undiagnosed!!! However. summer holidays are now here and as my 16 year old was clearing out her room (again) she came across a collection of books that I think really define her childhood. So, that got me to thinking... Which is the book/are the books that define YOUR childhood. Mine have to be Ballet Shoes, The Children of Green Knowe and The Little White Horse. I sooooo wanted a room in a turret. Still haven't got one

Well I gave up on today getting anything done. Just spent an hour or so watching a film, but what a good film - if you liked the BBC comedy Outnumbered you will like this film,' What we did on our holiday'. Full of giggles one minute but heart wrenching honesty the next. Not sorry I spent the time on this.
