Today Joe, my lovely husband, went for a 2nd interview and got the job! I'm so chuffed for him. It's closer to home (can go on the bus which will take 15 mins as opposed to the 40 minimum in the car he does now) it's more money and it's better hours! Just so happy. He's got to work his notice (4 weeks) and then it's bye bye to the company that treat him like rubbish and hello to a lovely new job! Woo hoo!

A TEACHER'S SURVIVAL KIT FOR EVERYDAY LIVING. TOOTHPICK-reminds us to look for the good qualities in our students. You may be the only teacher who says something positive to them that day. RUBBER BAND-reminds the teacher that they have to be flexible. Things don't always go the way we plan, But flexibility will help to work it out. BAND AID-reminds the teacher that sometimes we do more than teach, That we help heal hurt feelings, broken dreams, And lend an ear to a problem. PENCIL-reminds us to be thankful and we should list our blessings daily, But also encourage our students to list their blessings And to be proud of their accomplishments. ERASER-re…

Interview Preparation
by Guest- 7 replies

A couple of weeks ago I wrote asking advice about writing a supporting letter. Well thanks for the advice. I've now got an interview pending! I'm not really sure how to prepare for this. Has anyone got recent experience they could share, good ideas about questions that come up, how to prepare, etc. I'd be really grateful for any inspiration. Thanks and Happy Easter to everyone! AOB

Good Purchase

My boyfriend has just bought one of these. It is small and stands up like a photo frame. You insert the memory card from your digital camera into it, and it plays a loop of the photos. You can alter the speed at which it plays them. Not sure why he's bought it - probably because it's a gadget he hasn't got! I've got my eye on it for work, in order to show parents photos of their children at parent's eves etc.

Meeting About A Job

I have a student at nursery who is doing her CACHE level 3. She is amazing. She has finished her placement but is doing the odd day with us, just to make up some hours from when she was off sick. Anyway, her mum is the head teacher of a small private school (reception to year 6). She has just got the job of the head at another private school - but a much bigger one. She doesn't start until September but is working quite closely with the deputy who is acting as manager at the moment, in order to get a few things in place before she starts in Sept. Anyway, the students mum rang me up last week and said that the new school she is going to, need a manager for th…
