I travelled to Sue R's nursery in Nottingham yesterday. I had a great time and it was lovely to meet Sue for longer than the few brief minutes we managed at the NEC in May. If you've read Sue's blog about planning without topics I can tell you that it looks so good in practice, that everyone should give it a go. If any one is thinking of visiting another setting or just meeting up with people they have met on the forum, go for it. I feel, and I think Sue feels the same, that we have both made a new friend. If Steve can come up with a map of where we all are we should find a location central to all of us and have a great big get together. Happy meeting eveyone

Not about work at all......I live in a village in West Sussex on the coast. The Environment Agency has published a consultation document recently saying that it can no longer protect the coast in the same way as it has done historically, as with global warming it will become too costly. Some of their suggestions mean that land around the village will begin to erode as sea walls may not be maintained (this would leave some homes at risk of falling into the sea). Another area where a shingle bank has been renewed on an ongoing basis will eventually be left. The impact of this could be 600 hectares of land being flooded and turned into salt marsh. Everyone is very worri…

I went into the Early Learnign Centre today to buy a tractor with some recently raised funds and the shop assistant told me that there were having a re-fit and asked if I would like some of their ex display things??? She has given us, tables, chairs, easles etc!! How lovely, it isnt often that you get something for nothing!!! I had never thought of stores that have re-fits giving their things away but from now on I will keep my eyes and ears open!!

Does anyone remember this? It was on the news ages ago and I'm certain I applied for one. It was animated trains with real faces to help children with communication problems, specifically children with autism. Does anyone know what I'm on about?
