Hmmm, just noticed that I joined on 20th Feb last year and was wondering what happened when the year expires? Does my membership get renewed automatically or do I have to re-do it? Thanks in advance to all you knowledgeable people out there!

My orginal job ie sure start would like me to re-deploy me to another setting for matenatiy leave, don't know how long for though or whether it is in the nursery or creche. I will just have to wait until Monday to find out more. My only conern with this job is how long is it for, where in the centre is it, etc. I think college would rather have me working somewhere on a permante basis which I think is true as it could get all conursing doing different coursework at different places etc. Ok will have to wait until Monday to find out more. Heres to waiting. Beth

It's funny how when I read messages from people who frequently post, I get a vision of what they look like in my head!! I know what Nichola looks like from her wedding pics, but the rest of you are all in my imagination!!

How Do You All Do It?
by Guest- 5 replies

I read all the posts on planning and marvel at how great you all are. I am in a situation where I am head of a 39 place nursery but only work 2 days one week 3 the next but with half day PPA in that week so only 2 and half days in nsy. I have 2 wonderful NNEB's one of which comes in at 8am but generally has to leave by 3-30pm as she runs the schools very successful gymnastic team. The other who has children (12 and 9yrs) stays till her husband picks her up at 3-45pm by which time most of the clearing up is complete but no time for anything else. Their actual paid hours are only from 8-30am to 3-30pm.We are all on to sort a vague planning sheet out for the whole nursery l…

Retiring!
by Guest- 18 replies

Well my successor has been appointed. As some of you know, after 21 years at the same school, I am retiring at Easter. The interviews were yesterday and every one kept asking me how I felt. I don't know quite what they expected, but I felt fine about it. I am so looking forward to retirement. I am sure, at the end of the day, I will miss the children, but I won't miss all the things such as Ofsted, planning, monitoring etc. We are moving in the summer so will have plenty to keep us busy. Then, once we are settled, there is always the odd day supply, provided someone else does the planning!

...and was met by the owner of the pre-school and the soon to be area manager. From what I can gather the area manager is the current manager of the pre-school but the company are expanding so hence the area mananger title and the manager vacancy I have gone for today. The interview went quite well, I felt with the owner and the AM asking lots of questions, all of which I seemed able to answer fairly well. I decided to be honest about my reasons for leaving the current nursery and the owner said that she felt that it was a professional decision for me to make, so that made me feel lots better! I was a bit worried about giving them my reasons, but I managed to do it s…
