Hi everyone, I did my first day yesterday in my new position as leader. There are lots of things that need to be sorted out, but overall got a really good vibe from the staff and children so feel its going to be ok. There are somethings that need to changed and will slowly work through these after half term. Personal, social and emotional development will be top of the agenda, in one morning we had to deal with lots of snatching, throwing of resources and refusal to pick them up, children hitting each other, chair rocking, spitting milk, crawling under tables at snack time and hitting with the playdough rollers..but the children were very open to me, so that is a …

I hear you cry have you heard anything yet? YES I have heard so heres the story so far: They are very much interested in me working for a day next week, so I have pointed them in the direction of a work trial as this would be a better working option for a longer period of time. The responce given was great they are very much interested and want more information on it. I have pointed them in the direction of a man who does work trials but low and behold neither them or myself cannot get hold of him. If your wondering what a work trial is: you will find a little information at: http://www.jobcentreplus.gov.uk/JCP/Custom...rial/index.html …

Another Job Change

I have finally decided to hand my notice in at work and look for something else. I am quite sad about this actually, because despite the difficulties, I thought I was doing reasonably well to overcome them. My tutor said I was handling the situation really well and that she could see that through both my written work and my practice but I am just finding it all too much. I think had my manager been more supportive of my college work, I would've been able to cope much easier. When I wrote my notice letter and handed it in, I specifically did not give a reason as to why I wanted to leave, thinking that my manager would call me into the office (as she does for everything…

Hi! Well, sorry about this, but need to share! Some of you may know that my son is a Theatre Technician (as in stage, not hospital!!). Earlier this year his hard-won job healed up and went away, but he was fortunate to land an even better one with Loughborough Town Hall (which is actually the theatre, not the seat of local government!). Yesterday the pantomime run came to an end, having been a total, runaway success, sold out virtually every night with good reviews from everyone. During the run he's been doing the whole range of techy duties, as well as filling in for the UV scene and being chief dresser and support for the brave guy that played the Giant ( '…

Got a deadline for tomorrow, QA work, so up half the night again thought I would be on my own but looking at the index stats, there are 5 guests on the forum as well as me (only member) at this dark hour ( 3 am) feel a bit spooky, sure they are lovely people but I don't know who they are Off to bed, completed half the task, but hey, better than none, deadline 10am, mentor visit. Peggy ooooh, even more spooky, looked at total number of forum posts statistics and I am exactly equal with hali ( 3,886 posts each) We've had an ongoing 'race' toward the 4,000 mark, since reaching the 3,000 at a similar time , Is it just coincidence t…
