Childcare and this foundation degree as no one wants me.  I am avery good experienced nursery nurse with one negaitve aspect of me yes I mean negaitve as these interviewers just want me to be working all the time and not studying for the future needs of young children. Maybe I should just quit college and look for a level 3 nursery nurse job then start again but with 30 credits not just from sratch! Sorry just needed a rant. Beth

I have an interview on Wednesday for a qualified childcare practitioner. I though I would pose this question in its own tread. From the letter I have been given says: On arrival you will be given 2 scenarios based on the Birth to 3 matters and foundation stage curriculum and you will be given 15 mins to prepare your answers. So I think it means one senario on each framework/curriculum but this is not clear. What sort of senarios would be likely to crop up? Any ideas anyone? I am soo frightened of this ekkkkk it reminds me of my exam with the exeption of knowing the questions beforehand. TIA Beth

I have just checked my bank account and found someone has used my debit card to gamble, they've had £277 !! Havent some people got a nerve ? And how on earth did I have that much in there???? On new years day the car was broken into and our coats were stolen, in November we had to have a new front door lock because someone had tried to break in and got something stuck in our keyhole and now this. I know the bank will give me the money back, they did a few years ago when a cheque book was intercepted in the post just after I'd had my handbag stolen from my dinning room table! Is the government serious when it says crime is going down? 'Cos I dont see that L…

Red Nose Day

We plan to do some fund raising for Red Nose day in March. Does anyone have any activities or ideas they could share? Last time we made red jelly, stuck red vivelle noses on a lolly stick and decorated a biscuit with red icing. The parents made a small donation which we gave to this excellent cause. Any 'new' ideas would be very welcome!! Rosie

Hi all, Having a major crisis about my ability to teaching. I came into teaching after working in various other businesses and have been struggling with the change since my PGCE. I did a term of supply once I finished my course and enjoyed the opportunity to work in different places with out the stress of planning. I managed to get a job and have now finished my NQT year as a Reception teacher. Unfortunately, I am permanently exhausted, find it difficult to get a full nights sleep, find it difficult to even vaguely get my work done in the time I have at school and am too tired to do much in the evenings/weekends. On top of that I have very little support in…

Sorry but thought it was a bit rude to hijack that thread any more! Mary and I are fairly near each other and both attended a course on transitions to school last year (albeit in separate places!) I'm not sure ours was any better or worse really to be honest as we already had quite good links. The funniest thing is that one of our boys I would never have expected to cry did and his mum was also on the course as she runs another preschool in the area!

Came home from work on Wednesday feeling awful, and have been in bed ever since. It's horrible thinking of all the things at work that I should be doing, and will need to catch up on on next week. It's been brewing for a while though so I think I've needed these few days in bed.
