Magic Christmas Moments

At this time of the year,as we begin to put the tree up it takes me straight back to my son's first Chrismas at school. They learned a special 'magic'song to sing to the tree to make it light up. Parents were invited to an after school light the tree ceremony. The children gathered round and sang some songs and then sang the special light the tree song. No one seemed to notice Mr V. at the back strategically placed. When we got home my son went to our tree and started to sing the song. It still brings tears to my eyes.

Ok, so it's the first of December and after having done my assembly on advent and Christmas today I'm in a very festive mood so I've just dug out my festive avatar! Who else is joining me in celebrating this festive time of year?

A group of us from my school went to see his show last night and it was fabulous! He is has been a school inspector for many years and is really in touch with children's minds and general school life. If you've ever read any of his books, you'll know that his sense of humour and ability to make funny stories out of every day school occurrences is amazing. He is such a great public speaker; he spoke for 2 hours with no prompts. We laughed so much we nearly fell off our seats! If you get the chance to see one of the shows of his tour or just read one of his books try and do so. We all need a bit of humour in our work. http://www.ents24.com/web/artist/63199…

After returning to the forum after about a 6 week absence, I have just noticed that none of the avatars are moving. I have just bought a new laptop - is it something to do with that - or have they stopped jiggling about? Sue J

Hi, Haven't been around much lately, due to leaving my nursery teaching post in the summer and doing supply (pah! what supply!?) since. However, I went for a job interview this morning for a maternity cover (Jan to May), full time in reception and GOT THE JOB!!! Yippee! Just wanted to share, and warn you that I'll be picking your brains again shortly! I've not done reception since my training year. I'm so excited! We can eat again!

Oh I do love working in schools even if its not paid employment. Every school that I go to on supply tell me that I am good and always ask for me back, but recently due to college commitments and interviews I am not able to work on suppyly. Oh I feel soo respected and supported by the sta…
