I saw a job in one of the local papers today for a senior nursery nurse (head of room) postion. I have a L3 qualification and recent B23 training. I am also doing a Foundation Degree in Early Years so I am committed to becoming an Early Year Professional, hopefully in 2010. Now I think this postion is full time and I can only do 3/4 days per week. I have been looking into the nursery and have discovered that there is already a job share in the baby room. Now should I apply for the job? Would I have a disavange because I can only work 3/4 days per week due to college committments? Would I be more of an advantage condsering that I am already on my f…

We decided that for Children in Need we would all (staff and children) wear something or bring in something yellow today and donate £1 or more to Pudsey. Everyone took part although a few of us had a problem finding something yellow to wear. I found a yellow daffodil brooch and one of the assistants put yellow ribbons in her hair. Another member of staff, ( we'll call her C ), asked her husband if he would pop into town and find her something yellow to wear like a T shirt or a scarf for instance. he came back with a bright yellow waterproof jacket, so she looked like a fisherman. Give her, her dues, she wore it all session. As she put it on at 9 am she said, "at least if …

I just had to write about our latest fundraiser. Tonight the playgroup held a 'Prize Bingo' and we raised £500 for the funds. At the moment we have a brand new committee and only 20 children on the books, so it was a great effort. The village hall was full of friends , family and people from the village. All the prizes were donated by local and national firms so we really have only had to pay for the hire of the hall and the cost of envelopes and stamps. Unfortunately I didn't win anything but my daughter in law and her friend did. There was a great sense of relief at the end, that it had been a success. The money raised will pay for a coach and entry to a pantomime for…

Oh I am soooo tired, but I had a good day on placement they like me. This week I am shadowing some of the staff to get a feel of routine, room and the children, still don't know any of the childrens names! I think next week I will be having a section to myself? My mums sister is very ill and won't get better , so I am still very tired from going backward and forwards to the hosptial. On a postive note a couple of the staff knows whats going on I have been very proffesional about working today and putting my personal feelings aside and working with the children. I am very good at my job and they cannot undstand why no one want to take me on as I am a ve…
