A NEW CAR!!! Yesterday I went out car shopping with Joe and bought a Honda Jazz. It's a fancy top of the range one but we got it for cheap as it is an ex-demo car and was registered in January so is a 55 reg even though its a 2006 car. Also got a really good part ex for my old peugeot! I pick it up on Thursday and I just can't wait! Joe took a couple of pictures of it as we were leaving: http://www.photobox.co.uk/album/album_phot..._photo=84391494 http://www.photobox.co.uk/album/album_phot..._photo=84391501 Can't wait!

Nneb Reunion

The past few weeks I have been desparately attempting to get in contact with the people who I did my NNEB training with, as it has been 12 1/2 years since we qualified. I still keep in touch with 2 of the girls on a regular basis, but no-one else. Managed to get hold of half of the group, and last night we all went out for a meal. It really did seem like yesterday that we had all seen each other - 12 years has gone scarily quick. We are all still in childcare of one form or another. We had a really lovely time and have plans to do it all again. It was great fun reflecting back on some of the funny things that we got up to all those years ago. The one…

Wedding Menu Tasting
by Guest- 12 replies

I am getting married next year and last night we went to the hotel to sample the food from the wedding menu. We had chosen 2 starters, 2 mains and 2 puddings beforehand. When we got there we were shown to the restaurant (which we had to ourselves), and they had set up a candlelit table for 2. They then brought out the 2 starters first - which we ate as much as we liked of, before bringing out the mains then the puddings. The food was amazing, and we were well full up afterwards. Then the chef came out and spoke to us about our choices, and then we were shown to the bar area and given a coffee. Am dead excited now!!

Just come back from college and we have had a very strange day. First thing this morning we got our piece of writing back - I got an not very nice report on mine along with others. We all confused on how to write accademic writing. Then we swapped classes to personal development and mangagement - oh dear where is a managment post aggghhh I can do the role of the mangers post already. I must be learning the role from somewere. I was also telling the tutor about this forum and she thinks it's a great reasource for all childcare workers!! Well this afternoon we had creative dancing, we were all scared! But it ended up being a fun aft…

HI well as i was flicking through the local paper i saw a job for a fulltime nursery manager, in a neighbouring town (30 mins drive from me). the salary is £2,500 more than what i am on now (and that is lower scale)..... should i go for it?... they also want someone that wants to achieve eyps which i want to do..... However, i am mostly happy where i am.... and have only been manager three months there.... and i do like it, and it is local..... but the other job is more money, top end of there scale is £5,000 more than i am on now... but is further from home..... hmmmm, what to do? what would you all do... bearing in mind that i am happy in my job at present…

my daughter almost choked today i have never felt so scared or helpless all the training that we have as child carers does not prepare you for the panic that you feel when its someone close to you. my daughter has epilepsy and generally this is well controlled but today was a bad day for her she had a particularly difficult seizure and was eating at the time which made her choke. i really panicked i thought i was going to lose her. never want to feel like that again jojom
