Just got back from college and noticed Pegg's letter is in this weeks Nursery World. Peggy lovely letter, makes me think about what the course leader said to us today. She was talking about the childcare sector under 5's becoming a graduate led profession. Beth

I'm here again. In the LEA nursery I work in, the children make and send Mother's day cards. Now for the nonsense bit. We don't make Father's day cards. Apparently its because there are now so many children who don't have a dad at home that it would be too upsetting for the mums and/or any new partners/step-fathers, to ask them to pass the cards on. Also because we have so many children from single parent families we don't need to make them. Apparently. Is it me or is this the most rediculous argument?! Once again, I try without much success to make the point that this is EXACTLY the reason that the children should be sending cards, but to n…

Hi guys I have just come back from the Deputy Nursery Manager's job interview. I think it went well, will hopefully get to know by the end of the week. The information I got from them was good, I discovered I went for a job 3 years ago there, got offered the job and turned it down what a mistake I made. There are 3 Deputies in total, very handy if need to do coursework. It is also suppernumeray, I feel like it is a new challenge to take on depending on if I get the job of course. Will let you know how I get on later this week. Beth

Oh what fun supply work is!!! I got up at 7.30am just incase the agency rang up and I could get out of the door in a rush. Well by 9.00am there was no phone call, so I went to visit a day nursery to pick up an application form about 10.00 am. What fun that was you'll never guess what  yes thats right no flibing application form, but I did get to look at the nursery. This visit lasted all of 10 mins, right back home again I thought. Well I got home via the docs/chemist, and sat down to watch telly how boring so I went on the computer instead, but then did some constrived work - speculative letters. Went to post them and get the paper …

Hi all We have had computer issues at home that have now been fixed but ALL my favourites have gone! Websites and information that I have collected over years has all gone! obviously this site address is imprinted onto my memory but those other ones which have that great idea or must do planning or resource have disappeared. The most annoying thing is that over the holidays I went through them all and deleted any I though I was unlikely to use etc, so the ones that were left were the really good ones!!!! Can you help, can you post any favourites you have to restart my collection. In anticipation ........ Sharon

have discovered that there is now a code for being Cornish!!! WCOR will now be my very own ethnic code which I shall be sticking on all official documents with pride. I suspect this has something to do with Cornwall being recognised somewhere at EU level as a distinct region with it's own language and heritage (finally) and so the Dfes have added this code. Onen hag ol as the Cornish say!* Cx *One and all
