Just like to say Congratulations to BEAU, REA and JOSIEBRAD, who are celebrating 20+ years of marriage. Hope you have a great "romantic" day. And to any other forum member celebrating their Wedding Anniversary's. At a recent staff celebration following Ofsted, I invited husbands and partners to join in our barbecue because I do appreciatte the sometimes unsung support my staff obviously get from their husbands. THANK YOU TO ALL THE HUBBY'S OUT THERE WHO SUPPORT THEIR DEDICATED, OBSESSED, ADDICTED, PASSIONATE ( in terms of childcare ) ALWAYS TAKE WORK HOME, ALWAYS SHOP FOR PRESCHOOL, RARELY SWITCH OFF FROM WORK, WIVES. (As I am sat here now, attending to…

Tog Ratings
by Guest- 6 replies

Hello. My boyfriend and I have just been out and bought our daughter a new, proper bed, as she is rapidly growing out of the cot. She loves jumping in it and I was starting to worry that one day she would actually go through it! On top of the bed, we had to buy new bedding etc, as the cot sheets, although massive, will not stretch to the 3 foot mattress. One of the things I bought was a duvet with low tog rating. I have plenty of light cellular blankets that will cover her, as well as large sheets, but our flat is quite cold of an evening, so I bought a duvet and pillow. I'm a bit nervous about using the pillow but on holiday in June, she used one in a big bed…

I feel as if Im in an unenviable position and certainly have no experience so can anyone help, please? My student son wants accomodation in London for himself and his girlfriend. He is at Greenwich uni and she is based at Harrow so they ideally need to be somewhere within easy reach of both!! (Home sounds quite a good option to me but they do wish to minimise the travelling that that would entail!) SO anyone know how we best go about this? We have seen an organisation called flatland 1979 who seem to think they will be able to help but charge a fee, so anyone used them? Obviously, being students, money is an issue and my son needs internet access! They really want t…

I have just come across this in a book that I am reading for work - What does it mean to be two? (by Jennie Lindon) and thought this would brighten up a damp afternoon! RB x The_Property_Laws_of_the_Toddler.doc

I will never order from Nes again! Back in march, this year, I ordered a new climbing frame and accessories to the value of £1,450. I made sure I ordered before end of March so that I could get the 10% discount they were advertising. Duly ordered, I waited and waited and finally the bits arrived - all separately, over a period 3 months! I had made lots of phone calls, etc and even after telling them that delivery should be between 8am and 1.30pm, the courriers still delivered outside that time and didn't phone to let me know what time (aprox) they would be there, as they had promised. The Pre-school is in a church hall and the courriers left some of the parcels (which w…

My favourite summer time occupation is picking billberries on the moor near to where i live.I'ts even better when hubby and sons join me.Yesterday picked heaps in half an hour and made a crumble and froze some too. Going later this afternoon after a photo shoot at school (yes I know its the holidays) with 7 children we have managed to haul off their holiday. The local paper want to do our Ofsted news so we are doing it now as the Head retires this summer.
