Will I Regret It?

After reading post by kizzy about the bereavement, so many issues and feelings are going around my head! It may be I'm having a mega low moment without the ciggies, but I have heard so many tragic stories lately and at this moment I feel that my life is so full of hassle with pre-school stuff that it just makes you think why should I (we) have to live like this? When I took over as Supervisor about 14 years ago, I couldn't envisage the amount of work that would be coming! I absolutely love working with children and always have done, I am good at my job and have (with a lovely team behind me) built up a successful and busy group. I have put my heart and soul into every …

Is anyone else from the community going on the study week in Reggio Emilia next week? 3 teachers from our authority are going and I'm one of those chosen!!! I'm really excited about seeing practice I've heard about but am a bit anxious too! A friendly comment would be good. Any questions about 'the Reggio experience' members would like answers to?

by Guest- 6 replies

OK I decided I wanted red hair (which I love) - last dyed it a dark red about 6 weeks ago and it's ready to be done again. The thing is it's our holidays these next 2 weeks and I want to take my children to the pool - will it make my hair go a funny colour? Should I wait to dye it until the end of the hols or will I be ok? Thanks Megsmum

hello, I am feeling sad 2 weeks ago a child in my kw group (only 2 sessions TH/F) came in to preschool, had not seen her for a while as I was on training course on days she was in... her nana brought her in and informed me that her mum had died 2 days previous. Now how I carried on after that I do not know. The back ground is: started in Sept, under 3 dealt with nana as mum had an inoperable brain tumor (in her 20's). met mum on first week of child starting. lovely lady, talked with her about situation regarding hospitalisation of mum, effect on child for helping child to settle in. she said if she had not become ill would have trained in childcare... Anyway,…

Arghhhhhhhhh! <that feels a bit better> Today started out like any other but certainly didn't stay that way I know there have been messages recently with people having to contend with tragic and difficult situations and I suppose my day was not on that scale. However, two head injuries in one morning and then had to call 999 for a parent who collapsed outside the setting at pick up time it was all quite upsetting and I just needed to go Arghhhhh! where people will understand

Argh! am I going mad?? I just noticed the little clock on the hompage had not been altered. Then I looked again and it had changed from 20:30 to 21:30. I thought I had 'witnessed' Steve putting the clock forward but now it says 20:33 Maybe I have just lost the plot

Unison Strikes
by Guest- 3 replies

Hi Wondered how many schools and settings are affected by tomorrow's strike. My setting is closed but as the teacher (not in Unison, I'm in a teacher's union) I am not striking and I will be working at another school (doing paperwork) not tasks performed by Unison members (under advice from my union). We were hoping to get an exemption because our children fall under the children in need criteria. Most parents have been great - understanding why staff are keen to strike. Only a few parents had a moan that their children will be at home with them!
