School Shut Again Tomorrow...
by Guest- 12 replies

Beginning to forget what my classroom looks like - I haven't been in school since the 23rd February! The 24th and 27th were INSET days and since then we have been closed because of the snow - most roads are impassable and the school busses just can't get down them. Have had a lovely time building snowmen and sledging with my own children but cabin fever is setting in now and I need to go and get food but we can't get out Kids have had enough of each other and want to go back to school - 6 yr old has insisted I teach her tomorrow because she is missing school and wants some lessons Baking cupboard is empty - we have made so many things the WI would be proud…

please dont worry if you have no idea what this is about. I told Sue R, Hali and Beau that I would show them a discussion I'd seen but chat wouldnt let me paste. Confused???? ''Well, if the point of the Red Hat Society is just about choosing to look silly and have fun, they Have missed the point. The aging process includes some subtle and volitional changes and some completely altering and completely involuntary. The poem alludes to all of these. The Red Hat gang doesn't do much spitting and pulling of alarm bells. They're doing good deeds, they're organizing groups, meetings, luncheons, chapters, causes.... They're probably still paying the rent, forgoing swearing,…

Romance Never Dies

Hi all, just wanted to share with you all the romantic way my nephew proposed to his now wife. ( got married at the weekend). My nephew Daniel had been courting his girlfriend Suewan, who is Chinese for 10 yrs. 8 months ago Daniel was teaching kindergarten in Hong Kong, he had a class of 5-6 yr olds. He asked all 30 children to "write" a marriege proposal for Suewan. He scribed on the board for the children to copy and then they added a picture. They were lovely pictures of brides, grooms, hearts, flowers, birds ( doves, I think). Well, once they were completed, all with the message "Please will you marry Mr Daniel" he stuck them all up onthe walls in his flat. …

Children Do The Funniest Things
by Guest- 9 replies

One thing that keeps me in the job is the wonderful characters there are among the children. We had one little boy a few years ago who loved wheelie bins and dustbin lorries - he used to come in every day wearing his fluorescent jacket and thick gloves and drag the chairs around the room behind him as if they were wheelie bins. He knew all the different makes of skips and dustbin lorries. Just now we have a little girl pretends she is a dog - all of the time!! She woofs at us, crawls around the room on all fours (with her shoes off) and offers us her paw. She often says she can't do the activity we'd like her to try because the claws get in the way! The other…

Help. I've become addicted to this site. I don't get any of the work done that I had intended for pre-school, because I just have to see if there are any relevant articles or discussions on this site first. I then spot an article totally unconnected to what i originally wanted to look at and 30mins ( or more) have gone by. How do the rest of you cope?
