for the past few years i have a taught a reception class that ranged in size from 19 to 25 children..... I always noticed a difference with the slightly larger group, even with the difference of only a few children... in january, i will be taking a reception class of 30 children, so larger again - i have never had a R class this size before, even though it is the standard, just wondered if anybody noticed anthing different with a larger group, or had particular strategies that worked well with larger groups of children.... we will have freeflow indoor and outdoor provision whihc we didn't have before so that will help a bit i think... anyones views would be wel…

Happy birthday Dianne ! I just noticed it in the main page and I hope you have had a wonderful day. Kind regards, SmileyPR (Maybe we can have this post to congratulate those who have a birthday and have it updated with the new ones that come along. What do you think ?)

Last year my mom filled a shoe box to give to Boots the chemist for charity, does anyone know if they or anyone else are doing the same this year? I think it was for refugees but I also think there are other beneficiaries.

Hi all - Apologies to those of you who were inconvenienced by a 40 minute period of no Forum this afternoon (roughly between 4.15 and 4.50pm). Very irritating I know, and I'm trying to establish why it happened. There was a shorter period of downtime earlier this week, and I'm trying to find out how to prevent it happening again.

You know that member of staff that is always the last to arrive, first to start packing away, reluctant to go on training, says they'll do something and never bring it in? Well I had one like that. I had asked her for months at staff meetings and at other times to bring in some stuff from a course she'd attended. I left in July so it was left to the new playleader to drag out of her. Today I found out that she'd bought the stuff into playgroup months ago, but because I didnt ask her for it THAT DAY, she took it home and didnt bring it back. I was stunned, still am I laughed all the way home when I was told. Some people take not only the biscuit, but the whole barrel.…

Dear All, Should receive news on an interview i went to either tomorrow or Friday. It's really hard - I have had to wait for over a week. I know that I put up a good powerpoint presentation but then really fell apart during the interview questions. I think I stand probably only a 10-20% chance of getting this but its the not knowing that's killing me. I really would like this job, I know that there will not be another job similar to this iin the near future which makes it all the more maddening - it would get my out of my financial mess, it would be interesting and varied and I think it would be something that I would get a great deal of satisfaction out of it. So j…

The clock on my FSF forum homepage is an hour ahead, but the clock in the forum itself is correct. I expect the problem is due to changing the clocks and I remember having to alter something last Spring to ammend the clock but can't remember what it is. Does anyone know? Jackie
