We were starting to write the inserts for our Mothers' Day cards today and I asked one boy which colour paper he thought his mummy would like. He pondered and then... "I think she likes pink" he said. "Yes," I replied, "I've seen her with a nice pink shirt on." "She has pink pants too." said her son. While I'm spluttering and trying to contain my giggles he adds, "And some with roses on!" I'm quite glad that no other children were around at the time otherwise I think I would have been subject to a discussion on the pant-wearing habits of all my parents - would make it very difficult to look at them in the morning!

We just watched Stargazing Live on the computer at nursery with all our three and four year olds. We watched as the diamond ring appeared then gave a big cheer as 'totality' happened. Sadly thick grey cloud here but the sky still darkened. It's a privilege to watch and to share with our little ones.

We had a meeting today. Staff and committee talked about changing from committee run to something else. PLA said if I speak to Law Call, they'll be able to help, which is fine, I can do that. But some people make every decision so bl**dy difficult its all I can do to stop myself resigning right here and now. One staff member text me afterwards describing the others as "a nest of vipers, if it wasnt their decision they didnt like it". She's right, I feel so damn deflated. I've never done this for praise or recognition of any kind, I just love the playgroup and dont want it to close just because there isnt a committee, but I also dont need people complaining about the t…

One of my 'rough, tough' 4 year old boys asked me "can we do dancing today"......of course I said yes and he helped to choose some suitable music..... He was happy for us all to form an audience to watch him dance.......I couldn't quite believe what I was seeing - he had some great moves - we duly watched and applauded and then all joined in Truly a 'magic moment' :1b Grandma picked up and I asked her where this had come from - she had no idea - can't wait to see mum to see if she can shed any light on this........he doesn't watch TV so I know it's not that

So the children all made a lovely Mother's Day card. We walked the children up to the post box on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday last week.. Wednesdays having a 2nd class stamp, Thirsday and Fridays with a 1st class one. At least half the parents haven't received them at all. One out of 4 that live in the same road got one and now I'm told a patent has received a card through which explains insufficient postage paid. I am furious as they were all within the correct size. Grrrr so disappointed for the children and mummies. :(
