I Like The Way You.....bodyrockers

I like the way you.....by the Bodyrockers is number 3 in the charts. The lead singer, Dylon, is the older brother of my son's lifetime mates, Ben & Sam (the twins). I've "jammed" with Dylon, when his father was landlord of our local pub, me on guitar whilst he played guitar better than me and sang. The song is about the groupies who follow a band. ie: I like the way you wave....etc. Dylon wrote and produced the record. He also wrote some music used for a Holsten advert, it lasted 6 seconds and he was paid, wait for it...£18,000 per second. He has just signed a recording contract with Sony ( i think) for 1.5 million. He is a great guy, lots of fun and been i…

Fitting Out Our Centre.
by Guest- 11 replies

I have been given an initial budget of £10,000 to totally kit out our Early Years Centre. This will include tables (1 or 2 per dept only!!) and the chairs and a couple of computers and related software. We are also looking for a few small stacking beds and beanbags. Can anyone point me in the right direction for any unusual ( and reasonably priced) catalogues. I am already buying loads from Ebay!! I have all the usuals Hope, Galt, Arnold, S&S, Baker Ross. But as I am on the Isle of Man, people like Community Playthings refuse to deliver to us!!!! Our initial outlay sounds huge, but it includes lots of one off purchases like jigsaws, construction sets and outdoor…

The secret is in the preparation and today I made an assumption and suffered the consequences. Hope this little tale makes you laugh, the collegue present during my disaster today cetainly laughed. This week in circle time I have been doing 'Arcemedes theory'. First day big pot of water, playmobile princess had dropped her magic flute in the 'well', oh dear how can we get it out. Great suggestions, put in stones, water rose, princess got her flute back all very happy. Today, pot became a cauldron filled with blue water. Playmoblie wizard asks apprentice to mix a potion while he goes out. So I had a little playmobile spoon and yellow food colouring and made …

Child Protection Referral
by Guest- 9 replies

A child today made an allegation about someone he knew hitting him( a few other things recorded but not like this). We followed procedures and my child protection co-ord phoned s.services for advice. We were told to make an immediate referral and to tell mum. So we told Mum, and she obviously went mad, grabbed him and said he wouldn't be back. In my 10yrs of childcare this is the first time I have had to do this and I feel poo. Half of me knows that we did the right thing but the other half is panicing in did we do the right thing.I know our main concern is the child, but the his mum just started shouting that they were going to take him away. I tried to explain that t…

St George

We had a great day yesterday on the theme of St George, The children were very interested in this ancient Super Hero. Just wanted to share this little picture with you all - it is our dog Fergus - he usually sits by me on the sofa and reminds the children to do "Good Sitting Good Listening and Good Looking." Someone thought he would look good in my hat.
