Decorated Setting

Hi everybody, Have to share this with you. Recently we got about £ 35.000 to spend in setting. We striped walls of and put all furniture in the cellar and Attic and every room is been painted with lovely pastel colors. In the hall is lino, my only concern is will it be slippery during wet days (any ideas). In the snack room we got kitchen elements in children's hight . In the creative area we got also sinks in the children's hight. The new carpets only waiting to be done in the end off the week. Already looks beautiful, like brand new setting! We all so exited to go back and start putting things together. We also recently had installed interactive white board,…

I am just delighted today. There has been a lot going on at my playgroup in recent weeks and it's now looking certain that after the summer we will be opening 5 days a week, instead of just 3. This is because all my current mums are so happy with the playgroup that they want to keep their children with me for their preschool year. Also, they are planning to develop a small area of land beside the hall (got the go ahead from the hall committee last night) for an outdoor area. Somebody please tell me I'm not dreaming.

Happy Birthday diane! Now that you've reached half a century does that mean you'll become old and crotchety. I wonder how many of those years has been spent in the loo. Always look out for your book in the shop but haven't spotted it yet. Have a lovely birthday.

Thank you for your good wishes! The big five zero! Half a century! And I still feel much younger. Anyway, I took the girls (all three: 17, 14, 10) to London for the day. We had a super time at the British Museum (their choice). And gosh, the last time I went there must have been in the 1960's! I'd recommend it. And it was remarkably uncrowded - except for the Egyptian mummies area. Then we did Oxford Street in a big way! Just window shopping, really. The Top Shop flagship store (if my 14yr-old was affluent we'd still be there). Then all the other But my 10-yr-old wanted to hit the Disney Store. Spent all of £2 on a motivator for my ASD that I …

Colleague Lost Confidence
by Guest- 15 replies

Hi. Its something thats been on my mind for a while now but a colleague of mine seems to have lost all her confidence in her own abilities. Without going into too many details, its because of all the recent changes in education/more specifically the FS. She's a wonderful teacher but has had all her confidence knocked and I'm worried that she's going to make herself ill with stress. She's been teaching for many years but all the recent changes have just zapped her of her enthusiasm. I'm a lot younger and am used to all the paper work and having to justify everything we do with a learning objective. It does do my head in but I accept the fact that we can't do EVER…

Moving On!

Guess what!!! After battling for over a year to bring in and develop the FSC in the nursery, being complained about constantly (the staff couldn't do it?? didn't see the point etc!!) I have finally made the enomous leap out of the nursery. I handed my notice in on Wednesday, I am moving to a new nursery that is fully committed to the FSC and BTTM, and has a fantastic reputation: as a supervisor. One of my first tasks will be to enhance the creative area (my particular passion). The final straw(s) were when my 11 year old was vomiting and I asked my line manager if I could go home she repiled "Get your mother to look after him" actual words!! and on Monday I was tol…
