Hi - I've always liked a well known speech and motivational message first made by someone called Milton Olson. It seemed very appropriate to the way the members of this community share their time, experience and resources so generously, so we've given it the FSF treatment. Dedicated to all of you who come here to give as well as take! Hope you enjoy it! Lessons from Geese

Hi At the present time we run 4 sessions a week due to the lack of availability of the room we rent (it is used by the school the other days.) We have enquired with Ofsted as to whether we would be able to run full day care on a Friday only as we are now able to have the room all day. We have already had 16 children interested in full day care. I have sent in a detailed action plan and said how we would cover staff breaks, childrens dinner, provide quiet areas in case children (or staff!!!) need to rest etc. Has any one else been through swapping from sessional day care to full day care recently and could give me ideas of what else Ofsted would need to kno…

Happy Birthday Helen. I do hope you are making Steve do all the work today - not to mention an expensive present and slap up meal. If he doesn't come up with the goods throw him to the lions. (We'll sort him out for you! )

I know this is not in keeping with the spirit of the ocassion but next year I'm going to buy my family pancakes I have just left the kitchen after what seems like hours of batter mixing, frying, tossing, and most of all washing up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My kids love 'em and would sit there and eat them all eveing I reckon, but I can't say I actually found the whole thing much fun. Am I just being 'Mrs Grumpy Tired Person' or is anyone else wiping pancakes off the walls and ceilings and wishing they'd steered clear of the huge display of batter mix and jif squeezy lemons in the supermarket? We have decided to take the plunge and book our first proper family holiday abroad (discounting a 4 day Eurostar trip to Paris!). We're going to Costa Rica for Easter and I'm getting excited! It's 13 years since I last went on an aeroplane and the first time for my children. So far all we've done is booked the flights. We have a general idea of what we want to do (lots of nature watching etc but no extreme sports!). Looking for any advice/recommendations anyone can give...

Well today our parents met for the first time and it went really well, so I'm really pleased about that. Today the mums, me and Joe went to look at our favourite venue and we've provisionally booked it for the 11th August 2006!!!!! We have to pay the deposit within the next 2 weeks to confirm our booking, so as long as things are ok then we will be coughing up the money! I'm sooooooooooooooooooo excited I just had to let you all know!
