my TA wants tohave a real tree in the classroom. i personally would prefer aplastic one bec of 1. needles all over 2. real trees are heavy and might fall over and hurt someone and 3. we don't really havon't got the space and i dont want to be policing children who will laready be quite 'high'. My TA sulks if she doesn't have her way but i thought i wuld ask your opinion before saying anything. What do you think? Please advice.

Enhanced Disclosures
by Guest- 8 replies

I wondered if any one has experience with disclosure, its my other half he has branched into playwork as a change of career and found himself enjoying it but on his disclosure is a conviction for indecent exposure! well this was in the form of urinating in an alley one night after quite a few drinks. The police put it down as indecent exposure and now he is having trouble securing employment in childcare. Oh this was 23 years ago when he was a youngster and in the army. I just cant find any information and ofstead just say its up to setting to decide whether to employ him or not ! I just wondered if anyone can shed any light to this problem?

I remember doing this a long time ago at uni but please someone refresh my memory- old age et al. What is the difference betwwen a rect and an oblong? is a rectangle any 4 sided shape that has 90 degree angles and an oblong - a 4 sided shape with 2 short sides and 2 long sides and all at 90 degree angle. Why do i need this at nursery you may ask.......i want to get it right and i know what we traditionally call a rectangle is acutally one. I'm sure a square can be called a rectangle too. Yours truly confused and talking gibberish Please advice

Hi all - Don't forget the clocks went back last night. If you're posting and your posts look like they're an hour out it's because you've adjusted your profile to show Daylight Saving Time. Go to 'My Controls', select 'Board Settings', and uncheck the 'Daylight Savings Time' box. Sorry, this is the only way I can compete with Mundia's Lunar posts...

There wont be another visisble from the UK until 2007, so make the most of it, although the weather isnt promising any favours, and err, its in the middle of the night! Starts about 1ish in the morning with totality around 3am-4am.....if you get to see it, it should be a good one!

If only: If all of my clothes were made from the same material as stretch armstrong they would always return to their original shape after I had washed them!!! I wish all labels and important notes were made from the same material as ithe imperial leather label on the soap as that never seems to fall off!! If I wrap my childrens birthday/christmas pressies up in the same material as the blank CD's come in then they would take ages to open their presseies and they would need as many!!!! OK ...moan over Carol

Hi, a while ago I mentioned on a post which I just cant find now that I'd changed our planning again, and no matter what I was told by who ever, it was working for us and I was keeping it! Well our EYDPC (?) came just before we broke up and she wants a copy of my planning, loved it, said it was good, am I overjoyed? Yes! If I can work out how to put it on here I will do. It's a very simple format, with the week writen out showing all the equipment and activities for that week, with a smiley face next to the activities that are the focus for the week, these then have an activity plan. And thats it, I have struggled for years to find a simple, effective format and now i've…
