It was my first day back in school today and i come home feeling exhausted. What makes it worse is that is was only an inset day and there are no children in until tomorrow. Is it just me or does anyone else have trouble sleeping the day before you are due back to work after the hols. I must have woken up and checked the alarm clock 10 times. Hopefully tonight will be a better one! Tinyone

Have I got the most irritaitng parent or what? I have got a father hwo despite my best efforts feels that his 2.5 year old daughter should be learning her times tables, because as she misses school intake by some months, her time with us should be used to "hothouse" her so she is ahead of the game when she gets to school. I don't know if this is relevent but not only can she count properly, but her manners are awful, and she "winges" at every opportunity. I have trie talking to her father, but he sees her as gifted, quite how we all fail to see!!!! But he does insist that we formally teach her!!!!! First day back today. Children were great (except no-one ever introduces the new ones to me - I have to find out for myself). Management were horrendous. It would have been good manners for them to tell me that they had engaged new staff. We have one room. Up to 26 (woops, they sometimes take 30+, but don't breathe a word to OFSTED). All us staff work together. Why has no-one mentioned that there are 2 new staff? OK, I know them. They were mums of children in July. Now they are staff. But why cannot anyone just tell me. OK, at some point in the morning, they put on their pale blue polo shirts - and yes, I know then!!! Do they have CRB clear…

It was suggested to me today that staff do not do paperwork during the session. 'Ok' thought I, (will endeavour to do more at home and make money by selling marital bed as it's size will be surplus to requirements) But wait... comment also included doing observations! Hi there, Have been reading lots about these exhibitions taking place in London, Glasgow, Manchester, and Belfast and wondered if anyone is either going, or has gone to one in the past. Are they any good? is there lots of freebies? I wanted to go to one last year, but never got around to it, and then heard from someone that is fantastic, with loads of resources etc to look at and buy. Hopefully someone has been and can tell me whether it is worthwhite making the journey.
