Hi! Just followed link through this website to have a look at York's website in the hope of looking at their planning formats but was unable to access them. I can get as far as the folder titled long term, short term planning, etc but then it just stops. I cannot find any way of looking at the page. Can anyone help please! I need to change our planning in our FS unit and need to look at as many examples as poss to gain some ideas. Thankyou Cazza

Wooden Small World

I am looking to buy a wooden farm, but having looked through all of the catalogues, and only having a very small quarterly budget ( this budget includes paint, sand, ingredients for dough(yes my staff claim for a bag of flour!!) juice and snack ingredients) I cannot really justify the prices that NES and such are asking, my local college woodwork dept will not accomodate us, and I really need a substantial farm. Does anyone have any ideas, or websites that I could try???? ELC farm did it's job but 1. the staff let the children throw it around and break it. 2. It is not really built for 35 children using it most days!!!! Help!!!! Jan

Well it is very quiet in here isn't it? We finished on Friday, which is a week later than some of you. commiserations to those struggling on over the summer. I wish you all a lovely summer, and hope that the weather gets better from today, as it is raining here! I'm off to France on Wednesday for three weeks. I'm reading lots of novels and my only work read is 'Threads of Meaning' by Kathy Nutbrown. I look forward to next years chats.

We finished yesterday with two fancy dress parties (morning and afternoon). It was a lovely day and very emotional saying goodbye to the children leaving for school. I'm sitting here now gearing myself up to go and finish cleaning the equipment and do a big sort out in the cupboard with a couple of the staff. I hope everyone finishing today has a good time! Hi all, Well the current school year is drawing rapidly to a close, unless like Beau you live in a part of the world where that has already happened! Or perhaps you are so far away, things are very different! In the past year we have seen membership on here grow and grow and we now have a tremendous new site! We have shared golden moments, the little things that children say or do that make each day special and we have moaned and groaned sharing our frustrations and finding comfort from knowing we are not alone! So what are you really pleased about? What have you or your children achieved that makes you really pleased and proud, that makes you want to shout about …

5 Year Plan

I don't know if this the right place, But I have to vent my anger some where! Maye I am just getting old and I need to get out of child care! Child Care Centers - where does that leave pre school and private nurseries? Educare- WHAT! Does this mean that little village schools will have to close and all the children be bused in to town, to big Educare centers! Driving up standards of reading , writing, numeracy and science- At what level, we all know our children should not be doing any of this until at least 7! Dawn to Dusk schools- why not just stick maternity units in school and then give them back at 16. Where is the 'Family Unit' Schools to combine with early…
