Hi Everyone Just received my copy of the new Sure Start magazine - very interesting on browsing through. Topics covered included: Healthy eating for families New Foundation Stage director Foundation Degrees Every Child Matters green paper Children's Centres Body Language and on the 'What's Out There' Section I find the Foundation-Stage Forum mentioned. with a favourable review. I've attached a copy to Steve But I apologise for the poor quality as I had to scan it.

Any help welcome - what are the implications for moving from being employed by a local authority to going into the Independent Sector. Have applied for a vacancy in an Independent School but just want some clarification as to what effect this will have on areas outside the actual job e.g. pensions etc. Anyone else made the move? Who actually employs you? Do they have governors or not? I know these are simplistic questions and I am prepared to ask them at interview but would like to be a little better prepared - or to ask more sensible questions!!

I just felt I needed to come here and say how much I love working in early years. I seem to have posted so many negative posts that I was begining to think I was lost. I think we are going through a time of great turmoil in early years with the introduction of the Foundation Stage. Are we a stage? How do we cope with pressure from Key stage one? How can we make a stronger link between FS1 and FS2? We will get there because we have dedicated Practitioners in ealy years! Hi - Does anyone think we should run a repeat of the 1000th member competition and fork out a tenner for the first person to spot our 2000th member? (You can find the previous competition post here.) We've had a lovely week leading up to Chinese New Year. We've made New Year cards, changed our cafe into a Chinese Restaurant, made Chinese dragons, lucky money envelopes, tasted lots of Chinese food and had some great fun trying out chopsticks to eat with and to pick things up in the water and sand. The children (and parents) have really enjoyed it. We haven't managed to get through all the activities we planned - we'll make our animal masks tomorrow.
