opened the door to be greeted by a lady from ofsted - we have been waiting as not had one since 2010 - must admit she was absolutely lovely, never tried to catch us out -just wanted us to promote ourselves - say what we do well, how we inspire the children etc - and the outcome left us with smiles :1b

In college we've used the Little Boy poem and we wanted to use something similar to further develop the idea of encouraging creativity, and not producing. One of my colleagues has used before a story or poem about red horses, green horses, etc but can't find it now. If you've got a copy or link to this or something else similar would you mind pointing me in the right direction please?

My son has come home from school today with a reading folder with a few keywords, a letter formation jotter and a letter. The letter states: You can help at home by practising formation of letters with your child...the more time given to practising (spelt practicing) the more confident and independent writers the children will become. This jotter is a lined jotter with 2 letters per page. So my initial though is: or this will put them off for life thinking that writing is BORING! My son was 4 in late August so may find lots of writing tiring and might need a bit more inspiration to give it a try. What do you think?

I'd really appreciate as much input as possible What experience did you have when you became one? (or what experience does your FSL have?) What are the extra responsibilities on top of your daily teaching role? What makes a special Foundation Stage Leader? Thank you everyone

Is anyone else struggling with their 2yr olds this year? Admittedly we do have more of them than normal but they are v v v young and it's absolutely wearing We have spent a big part of the morning fetching them from the toilets which is where they like to wander - if I'm being positive I could say they are showing an interest in potty training but they aren't they like to put toys down the loo! Speech is virtually non-existent lots of grunting & pointing - even though most have had their HV 2yr check and all is well (very worrying!) so they don't join in with rhymes - which is one of our fave things toys are just everywhere, paint goes virtually everywhere but t…

I see that the forum for this is greyed out, does that mean nothing at all is happening on here this year? Feeling exhausted by this week - no idea why, but will gladly give myself a good talking to if there are competitions on here tomorrow night

Hi all I would just like to know if any of you use an iPod in your setting and how you use it. I am particularly interested in being able to use it for music especially in areas where there is no socket for the dock. Can it be used to hook up wirelessly? Would be grateful for some advice - sorry for being so green about these things.

Hi all we are looking to purchase the Reflections on Learning Light Station as we have just had a fundraising event. However at over £650 I was wondering if there was anything else out there on the market similar in size but perhaps a tad cheaper? Does anyone have this particular table and if so how are you finding it? Also what would you purchase in terms of science and investigations resources? Any ideas or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
