My friend has just posted this picture on her facebook page, asking if anyone knows who he is. We both think he may be an actor because his face looks familiar but we need a name. This photo is at least 35 years old, and apparently this chap is photographed with my friend's grandpa. However, there is no-one in the family who can answer the question. So I guess I'm hoping for someone of a 'certain age' to come to our rescue!

So, I arrive at the big 40 next week, now birthdays have never bothered me before, but I am freaking out about this one!! I was just wondering if I met my younger self, what piece of advice would I give? Travel and see the world. I got very close to travelling around Canada in my late teens, but on the day we were going to book tickets my travelling companion got a late acceptance at university. I have an interview on Wednesday. Being on holiday I've had more time than usual to prepare and consequently am even more stressed than I would be normally and am tying myself in knots over the teaching task (usually the only bit I feel comfortable with!) I have just received data on the class I will be working with and there are a significant number of children with EAL in the group. I was expecting this but have no experience of it at all. Okay so here's the scenario. Separated parents, and they have two children aged 8 and 5. Oldest boy is allowed unmonitored time on YouTube, and to watch movies and play video games which are inappropriate for his age. Recently he asked what the 'c' word meant - turned out he'd heard it on something called a 'rap battle' on YouTube. Feeling so sad today and just had to share.... I am the manager of a Nursery with a close knit team of 8 of us. Just after Christmas we found out that one of our team had terminal cancer of the lungs which had spread also to the kidneys. Last week we were told she had 6-8 weeks to live, today we have been told its a matter of days. She has a 13 year old daughter and an 18 year old son who's girlfriend is expecting a baby in August. It's just all so desperately sad and it will be the second of our staff who has been taken by this dreadful dreadful disease. I feel so sad for her children.
